Sorry for the separate thread, but I've got to vent this out...I'm SO pissed with my RE right now...
If you saw my post in the weekly thread, we've been dealing with one setback after another due to chronic endometritis, a failed retrieval cycle and patient limits for each cycle. I sent an annoyed, but respectful email to my IVF nurse (who has been amazing through all of this) and got a call from her yesterday (after forwarding my email from a week ago). My RE is closing the office I go to and merging with another practice an hour away. We'd still be able to go to the campus the office is at currently (it's part of a hospital system now) for monitoring, but all procedures would need to be done at the new main office over an hour away. She said it will be official effective 1/1/19, but she can't guarantee we'd be able to cycle right away because "she's not a part of that." I asked her if she was moving with the practice and she said no. So essentially they screwed her over and a lot of their current patients. I feel like when you are dealing with something like IVF cycles and infertile women, you can't just put everything on hold to merge with someone else. I feel like this has been in the works for awhile and that is the reason behind the "patient limits" for each cycle.
So I'm going for my biopsy on Monday (I've already been on the antibiotic for over a week, might as well see THAT through with him at least) and then I'm transferring my records somewhere else. It makes me so sad because I know it means we may not retrieve/transfer till spring now, when that's when we SHOULD have been expecting a baby if all had been successful and went as plan.
Does anyone have experience with switching doctors? Did the new practice make you re-do testing or were you able to have a consult and then jump right in? Shady Grove recently opened a practice locally, plus there is an office close to my work (I work 45 mins from home), so I feel like they'd be a good fit, plus I've heard they have great results...anyone have experience with them?
Sorry for the book...I'm just so annoyed, pissed, frustrated and sad over this. I feel like we're back at square one.

Oh stellelinds25 I’m so sorry. What absolute shit. It does kind of put their massive communication issues into perspective and not in a good way. I’d absolutely try to switch to another clinic ASAP. Have you looked at other clinics yet? Is there a long wait to get in? Hopefully you can start right away once you do.
I’m so, so sorry this is happening to you after all you’ve been through already. I really hope you land at an awesome clinic that is responsive and doesn’t have arbitrary patient limits and restrictions to slow you down.

I am so sorry, I would be livid.
I haven't switched practices, but I go to Shady Grove and they have been really great. They got me pregnant with DS and I am hoping to have good results with them for my FET next week. They seem to stay on top of current research and have easy scheduling since they are open everyday with good hours. One thing about them is they are HUGE so I joke with my H when I am monitoring there that I am going to my morning cattle call. So sometimes you feel like a number and not a person, but they get results so I can't complain. My nurse is fantastic and my doctor has always made me feel like she has a good plan for me.
I'd be happy to answer any questions about SG for you. Call today to get an appointment since it can take a while for new patients. You can always cancel.
Wait, they have patient limits, like... they tell you that they're full for the month so you can't cycle?
I just switched REs. Nothing against my old practice, I had just been there for 2.5 years and 4 retrievals and wanted a fresh pair of eyes. They were actually really good, and the nurses and finance people were amazing. I also really loved my RE - he has a great bedside manner - but I felt like the clinic did variations on basic stim protocols and didn't really think outside the box. My BFF moved to the clinic I'm with now to try to get into a trial, and she's now 37 weeks pregnant.
If any of your tests are over a year old (semen analysis, complete blood panel, etc), you'll need to re-do them, but you need testing within the last 12 months for all IVF cycles anyway.
I have 1 frozen embryo at my old place, but I'll cross that bridge later.

That’s a lot to deal with and to go through. You have to follow your gut. I’d leave too. I’m lucky my RE is awesome. (Like I’ll fly back to NY for treatment awesome.)
I hope this next place if you choose to is exactly what you need!
I.switched but I was monitoring with the place I ended up.switching too so they had some of my records. I did have to redo most testing though. I started at shady grove. There were things I liked and didnt like. They are open everyday and have amazing hours. My nurse was great. They have great stats thiugh ot didnt work for me. I didnt like that I never saw my doctor and felt like a number. I moved to a much smaller practice where I saw my doctor for every mknitoring appointment and was successful but had shady grove been closer ( it was 2 hours away and new practuce 1 hour) i probably would have stayed there.

Thank you all for the responses! Yea, so I thought patient limits for cycles was a normal thing until I started hearing from people they've never heard of that. Which again, makes me feel like we were getting pushed off because they've known this merger is coming and didn't want to take on cycles. Which makes me even more angry. I just made a consult appt with the new Dr for 12/17 and I'm anxious to get the ball rolling and hopefully be able to cycle right away in January.
