State of the Ute 11/26/2018

1. Where are you at on this journey? (TTC#, month/cycle, CD, DPO)
TTC#2, cycle #1, CD 13

2. Any upcoming tests? Not until next week. I am temping though.

3. How did Thanksgiving go for you? I’m Canadian but my ILs actually celebrated their family Thanksgiving this past Sunday due to schedules. It was also the Gray Cup in Canada, which unfortunately my home town lost (sad face). I am still working through all the turkey leftovers they gave us.

4. Questions, randoms? DD (3yo) wants a sibling badly but is doing her damndest to prevent the conception of one. Last night she stayed awake until 11:30 (8:30 bedtime generally) for reasons unknown. She seems to pull this off every two weeks or so. She finally fell asleep in our bed so no BD. I generally ovulate between day 14-16 based on past cycles and if she does this again tonight she can stay in her room!

2. Any upcoming tests? I tested this morning and it was a BFN. I am fairly certain AF is coming. I just feel defeated.

3. How did Thanksgiving go for you? Good, there was 19 of us. We had a lot of fun together. It was my family and ILs. Immediately after we arrived DHs cousin basically watched me drink wine and got upset I wasn’t pregnant. She doesn’t know about the loss but it kind of stung bc yeah I wanna be pregnant too.

4. Questions, randoms? Even though it sucks I am more than likely not pregnant this cycle I will not have to worry about missing our annual family vacation next year so that’s a small bonus.

Also anyone have a solution for waking up at different times and temping? Is there anyway to be more consistent without needing to set an alarm for 3 am?

3. How did Thanksgiving go for you? It was really low key. DH had to work at 2 ON thanksgiving so it was just me and the dog. I ended up going to the movies though (Instant Family) which was packed.

4. Questions, randoms? I'm just a sitting duck until January when we start IVF. DH has a demanding schedule Nov and Dec and so stimming now doesn't make sense.

3. How did Thanksgiving go for you? I’m Canadian so we did not celebrate anything. It was H’s 35th birthday over the weekend so we had a dinner with family which was nice.

4. Questions, randoms? I’m just anxious to find out if I’m KU or not. We fly out for our trip to Germany on the 7th which is right in the middle of when AF is expected. I felt pretty well until I got to be about 6-7 weeks with DS so if things go the same I should feel ok during our trip. If not, we’re with close family so I can take it easy and have plenty of help with DS. I just want to know already.

2. Any upcoming tests? Trying out OPKs this month.

3. How did Thanksgiving go for you? I’m Canadian and I live in the Netherlands so not TG here.

4. Questions, randoms? I am so hopeful that this month is the month for us but also I have a hectic and fun January planned so I guess I won’t be tooooo sad if it doesn’t work out. If it doesn’t, we’re on hold until I return from Africa at the end of January. I have so little faith in my ability to get pregnant naturally so I gotta remember not to get my hopes up.

2. Doing OPKs. Though it’s difficult to do them at work when I’m busy.

3. Thanksgiving was ok. I had to work 10 hours. Only had one patient so it was a total waste of my time, though the money will be good. MH came down with J and we had chicken and thanksgiving sides when I got off work. I was on call too and thankfully did not get called in.

4. My boss/roommate told me she’s pregnant last Tuesday. That was fantastic /sarcasm. Now she just wants to ask me pregnancy questions and keeps talking about it and I don’t have the heart to tell her I really don’t want to talk about it.
She knows we’re TTC and she’s told me a couple times to hurry up and get pregnant so we can be pregnant at the same time. Sorry, it really doesn’t work like that. And she keeps say how she’s so surprised because they weren’t trying but weren’t preventing and weren’t going to try for until the new year. That’s like a knife in the heart since we have been trying but I don’t think it’s going to happen naturally for us ever. So that’s awesome.
I really wish we could afford a house down here so I didn’t have to live with them. I suppose I could start driving home every day, but winter has started full force and the 1 hour 15 min commute gets closer to 2 when it’s bad out. Of course, I’m getting “kicked out” in 6 months or so anyway. So we’ve got to find something closer by then.

I’m so sorry. The “hurry up and get pregnant” is the absolute worst.

Edit to add: last week one of my coworkers was badgering me about if I’m going to have a second and I said “we haven’t decided yet” since I don’t care to share that we’re TTCing. She then proceeded to tell me that with both her kids she got pregnant the first cycle. “How nice for you” was all I could muster.

3. How did Thanksgiving go for you? Ok, I guess. The holiday itself was fine, but I am still recovering from a concussion and behind in school and housework, so I felt crappy for a good chunk of the weekend and was super busy for the rest.

Just frustrated with concussion recovery! I want to get back to my normal schedule and start exercising again.

I’m so sorry. The “hurry up and get pregnant” is the absolute worst.

She then proceeded to tell me that with both her kids she got pregnant the first cycle. “How nice for you” was all I could muster.

I am sorry. I also get people asking me all the time when I am going to have number 2. I have waited until I could afford a second (I would have had a second earlier but that was not possible financially) and now I think the way this cycle is going I will be on my 7th cycle next month. I had a loss during cycle 3. Yeah I would really like to be pregnant but I am not so don’t give me a hard time. Hugs guys. This whole process isn’t fun.

I’m sorry, is so frustrating. My uterus is not your business and I don’t care if you get pregnant just by looking at your husband. It’s not that easy for some people, damnit!
This person knows it took a year and a half the first time and we used clomid. She’s told me a couple times to “just get some clomid!” Also not as easy as it sounds...
