Extended family members are now starting to ask for gift ideas for the kids. My son is easy with Legos, but I am drawing a blank for my daughter. She likes arts and crafts stuff, but she is already getting a ton of that from immediate family/me. Huge crayon/colored pencils/watercolors sets. Bath bomb maker, lip balm maker. She already has a spiral drawing thing, aquabeads, pillow making kits. She is not into dolls. She has a ton of LOL and shopkins type crap she never plays with. She has legos coming out her ears.
She loves the Magic Tree House books, but we have them all already thanks to hand me downs. Are there any other books you'd recommend? Any other craft type things?
I tried for experience gifts, but that's not their thing I guess. TIA.

Has she tried Rainbow looms and other bracelet-making sets? My 7-year-old has just recently gotten into those.
This age is hard. I have really struggled with Christmas this year for her. Here are some things she's getting (none of which she asked for b/c she gave me no ideas):
Karaoke microphone Scrapbooking kit Light-up globe Light-up jump rope Crayola tracing board Caboodle filled with earrings and other accessories, bath bombs, etc. New purse
My niece asked for jewelry-making stuff for her birthday. She wanted the stuff to make friendship bracelets with embroidery floss, just like I did when I was a kid! LOL.
Board games, instant camera, converse high tops, and books are on my DD’s list. If your daughter liked Magic Treehouse maybe try Ranger in Time or the I Survived series. They are a higher reading level though. My 8 year old loves Dogman, Bad Kitty, The Classroom 13 series, and The Bad Guys but she loves funny books. She’s getting Geronimo Stilton and My Weird School for Christmas.
My 6.5 year old wants: Polaroid camera thing Sew n' Style sewing machine Pomsies Patches plush Draw and writing journal Tattoo pens Illustrated Encylopedia Fingerlings Hugs Puzzles Karaoke machine (that was a big no lol)
She has and loves the Ada Twist Scientist and Rosie Revere Engineer, and they also have like science journals to go with them all now.
"Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you've got a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies-"God damn it, you've got to be kind.”
My kids like Playmobil sets. Dragonwood is a fun card game we got this summer. Other games? Any outdoor toys/gear needed? I.e. sled, bike, scooter, etc? Cute stuff for her room
My 6.5 year old is getting the book set for zoey and Sassafras, she is also getting Miranda and Maude as books. She also still likes the Melissa and Doug sticker books where you dress up girls, put on a horse show, etc. she is getting bath bombs, lip gloss, and a compact.
The other art thing I saw which looked cool was the colorful stencil type scratch off book where you use a wooden stick to scratch the paper and it makes the design in inverse.

Things my 7.5 yo loves:
Kiwi crate subscription (we've had it for a few years, she loves it) Ranger Rick subscription NatGeo Kids subscription Buffy the Vampire Slayer: New School Nightmare (reboot as a younger Buffy, comic book style, listed as grades 3-7 so some of the words were tricky but she just DEVOURED this book in like 2 or 3 days) American Girl Wellie Wishers and accessories Still loves and uses her Magna Doodle Slime-making (could get a kit or just package some supplies) Electric keyboard (we need to get her into piano lessons, but she likes playing with it and trying to learn from an app, though she does get frustrated) Bookmarks The Cat Game

Does she like animals? There are a TON of books by Holly Webb about dogs and cats that are good for that age.
My daughter is also really into personalized gifts. Our dog is her favorite thing in the world, so I did photo gifts from shutterfly, things like a deck of cards and a blanket with our dog's picture on them.
Does she like Magnatiles or other building things? There are lots of cute 'interconnecting' little things to build with out there. My daughter likes puzzle type things too like Imaginets and the game Dog Pile (where you put magnetic pieces together in patterns).
Agree with HP illustrated books! DD is getting the first one for Christmas She also likes the Owl Diaries and The Last Firehawk series.
Skates (they have some at target that turn from roller skates to roller blades) Kiwi crate is a HUGE hit here What about board games? DD likes Guess Who, Qwirkle, Dominoes, Headbanz for kids
My 7 year old really loves the Never Girl and Owl Diary series books. Her list includes Wellie Wishers this year as well as a large Smashmallow pillow. An my MIL got her the arts and crate Kiwi crate subscription last year and she LOVES it.

My almost 7yo boy enjoys his Highlights magazine subscription. On his list this year he has a fort making kit (Antsy Pants at Target), walkie talkies, a science kit & a skateboard.
I was also going to suggest a sewing machine or something to take crafts to the next level. My kid also really likes getting unfinished wood or clay projects that she can decorate, like bird houses, little storage boxes, or animal figures. She gets to use higher quality paints with them and then use the finished project for whatever.
@lindy The Sew and Style machine is junk, just a head’s up.
