Where are you? I know you're busy. Tell us what you've got going on. Knee news. Kiawah countdown. Kickass run update! - Well, last night I made up a bullet point speech to give to my class for the end of the semester that basically boils down to "Unless you have a valid medical excuse that I missed, don't fucking email me or the AI's and ask for extra work because you couldn't be bothered to do it in the first place." So that's how my life has been going lately.
Knee update - no one can still definitively say "This is what's going on." So we're basically guessing? I got another cortisone shot last Friday, so fingers crossed that it will start calming down some of the inflammation.
I'm excited for Kiawah. I'm trying to reframe my expectations, and think realistically, and understand that I'm not at peak race performance right now. It's a hard mindset.
Running has been going really good lately though. Actually, everything has been going good. But I am SO glad I decided to buy the run power meter. It's been run-changing.
How are you managing training through the holidays?
Well, the holidays mean the glorious semester break, so my time just got a lot more free. I actually think our travel is going to be minimal. I'm going to race in CT, and then just run. I might see if I can convince K to take our bikes to Alabama when we go. I don't mind not swimming. So I'll just KOKO and do what I can.
If money were no object, what would be the first new IM-related thing that you'd buy?
I want to take the easy answer and say a tri bike, but if money were no object, I'd convince IM to give me a lifetime of 70.3 and 140.6 entries so I could do whichever races I wanted. :-)
