Makeup for a formal event

Want to help make me up?  We have a formal event on Saturday night.  The dress I'm wearing is sort of an oxblood/burgundy color.  I like the color, but I always have a hard time figuring out what will work with it makeup-wise for some reason.

I like Bite Glacé with burgundy. If you don't have that, see if you might have a dupe. It's a dusty mauve color. That plus a smoked eye using Naked 3, or a similar color palette would be nice.

Nude lip with a gold eye would work too.

I like either a pinky-bronze smoky eye (like shades from Naked 3) or a golden and warm bronze smoky eye with burgundy. I think I'd go with a sightly deeper nude lip. Two that leap to mind (with my coloring) are NARS Rikugien satin lip pencil and Chanel Rouge Coco Shine in Boy. Maybe even NYX Butter lipstick in Root Beer Float. Just general thoughts. Sometimes I do go with a lipstick that matches or comes close to matching the dress, maybe similar shade but more sheer.

My everyday makeup colors are go-with-everything neutrals, so for evening I just wear my everyday makeup a bit heavier, like more dramatic around the eyes. I don't buy crazy colors that can't be worn everyday, because I can never use them up and I hate throwing away my money.
