... the hubs. What are you getting yours? I’m thinking a nice bottle of champagne and something to do with baseball since he’s coaching this year. Maybe a hat that says Coach DH?
Backstory- Last year DH bought himself a $800 drone. We were in the middle of waiting to hear whether we would have to pay 20K in taxes. I made him return it, and he pulled sad faces all weekend.
FF- 8 months, IRS said we don't owe anything and gave us $800. This like never happens, but it was honestly just a filling out his rollover paperwork incorrectly. We interpret that as a get out of jail free card, and never mess up again. So we have a CPA now for current taxes, and our financial planner helps with all DH's rollover paperwork so he can review it with DH and make sure it is correct.
So I got him the drone of his choice. This one was only $350 plus tax.
ETA- he also bought himself a Ring camera system, but he is planning to try it out and probably return it. We do want one eventually for when the kids are old enough to be home by themselves, but not sure we want the expense right now.

So far I bought him a portable battery charger for a car or electronics that fits in the glove box and a pair of work pants from Duluth trading. He mentioned replacing the outdoor lighting on the garage and side of the house, so I might do that as the rest of his gift.
I got DH a backpacking hiking pack. I didn't buy him the $400 he wanted as he has a bad tendency to spend $$$ on a hobby and then ditch it after 2 years for some odd reason. I had a family friend check it out who is a big back country hiker and she said it looked really nice and prefect for DH who is just getting into it. I see DH maybe going on 1 hike a summer.
I bought him the TV he wanted so he could run on the treadmill. I also got him one of the cheaper versions of the wireless speakers since he likes to listen to music when he is working in the garage. That was so he would have a surprise.

mommyatty, I like the idea of a hat that says Coach. I also like others' suggestions of a shirt or jersey that says Coach.
I have no idea what I'm getting DH. We'll need to talk. We're going to Disney World next week, so part of me says that we don't exchange gifts this year, because I'm sure we'll both want to get a few souvenirs while we're there.
Ugh, I need ideas. We normally are big on gifts - like last year he gave me an Apple Watch and a necklace - so I need to come up with something. I’m considering a nice sound bar thing for the TV. Also maybe a collapsible awning for camping/kids sports/the beach. But that’s more of a gift for both of us. He mentioned some super fancy headphones but now has gone back on that.
ETA maybe a telescope. He’s super into space. But we have a family of 5 in a small house so not sure where it would live. I wish we had basements in SoCal!
I have a double whammy of gifts for DH.. his birthday is 12/17 and then Christmas a week later.. and if the man really wants something, he’s already bought it.

That’s my problem with DH. He buys what he wants and truth be told he would rather pick it out himself. I ordered him the Coach hat with his name on the side. I’ll probably add a shirt of some sort. But then I’m stuck.
sdlaura - DH is drooling over the Bose sound bar. But I’d already bought his gifts and it’s too much for me to justify (IMO... but DH is really into good music and quality sound). So, just an idea if you go that way. He has researched a lot.
Dh wants an adult commuter electric scooter so he doesn’t have to wait on the shuttles at work to get from one building to another. And a few other $500 gifts so I think I’ll get him the scooter.
sandandsea I gave my DH an electric skateboard last year. Apparently a lot of people use it for commuting. It’s pretty fun but probably less practical than an electric scooter!
Thanks mae0111! We have other stuff from Sonos so I’ll have to compare the two.

Hm. I wonder if he’d like that. How would you lock it up when you go into meetings? I’m sure he doesn’t want to bring it with him!

Do they not have Limes and Byrds littering that area?!?!

Yep. But always busy and gone. Apparently they’re popular.
k3am- DH would LOVE that gift if we had room for one! Not kidding. At all.
Hah.. so will mine. He had an outlet installed when we moved in, but never bought one.
He apparently saw the same ad as I did and asked if we should pull the trigger on buying one. Had to tell him I REALLY didn’t want to spend the money on one right now if we’re buying that stupid TV...
Also Santa is buying me a ladder. He’s so practical.
