The finale of our cyclocross bike race series is Sunday. The bike shop putting it on knows how to throw a massive party, and this course is always fun. The two guys that designed it always do a great job. I can't wait! Only 2 more weeks til the cyclocross national championships.
So, I'm supposed to do a 5k trail run, followed by running the 1 mile kids run with DD. However DS2 is sick with some kind of vomiting bug, so we might have to cancel one or both.
Today is a rest day for me, but tomorrow I'm doing a 5k at a brewery. Race swag includes a glass and a free beer. It's my last chance for 2018 to get a sub-30 5k, and I really hope I make it. I don't want to have to put it on next year's goals again!
I did a 55 mile trainer ride this morning, have a 13 mile run tomorrow, and swim and run on Monday.
Oh and I’m about to get on a plane to go to New England for the patriots-Vikings game.
Good luck racers!
You are a machine!
Also because I feel like I don’t know what I’m doing on the trainer, what is your typical cadence? Just curious (is this a weird question and something that varies a lot person to person? Also sadlebred might have input on this)

Unless I'm doing a workout that focuses on cadence drills I'm usually somewhere in natural cadence of 85-95 rpm on the trainer.
I got 6.5 hours of sleep and DS2 is acting fairly normal, so we went to the race! I haven't done a running race in 6 years and it was my first trail race. It was so fun! DD did the one mile kids run with me trailing behind her, and she got first place! If we go next year she might upgrade to the 2 mile kids race.
