It depends on time of day but definitely check on the website. Security at MCO ranges from bad to the worst experience of your life. Best bet is to go with the least amount of carry-on stuff as possible. I’m still mad about the agent confiscating DD’s unopened prescription milk. He gave nary a fuck about testing it or any other protocol and threatened my H with a pat down in the secure area when he complained.

We went through around 10:00 am on a Saturday (12/8) and got through security in about 30 minutes. (It was terminal B, if that makes a difference.) They do not require you to remove electronics or the liquids bag from your carryon.
We checked our bags at the resort early on our departure day, and that saved us another 30-60 minutes at the airport.
WE went through last month and it was awful. It didn’t help that they are one of the airports that has you take out all food from your carry on to go be out in its own bin (on our flight back they were very strict with the snacks in their own bins...and of course so many families flying with little kids and snacks so they kept running out of bins. It was truly painful. The food rule seems to be very airport specific lately) We were likely just having a bad day because we have flown through many times before and this was the worst I have seen, but i don’t recall it ever being a fast security line.

you must have been put in the pre check line. They most definitely require electronics and liquids (and food) out in the regular line. In fact our Orlando experience last month is what finally got me off my butt and signed up for pre check so I never need to go through that again lol

Our experiences at Orlando haven't been bad, but they have been varied. There is no consistency. We've gone through where they are super strict, everything has to be removed, etc, and we have gone through where it is basically like pre check (but its not.)
Top 10 parent experiences was my child melting down in security at Orlando last year because it's was a total clusterfuck of weaving lines and people yelling at everyone in line to take out even a single piece of candy. I had to carry her through the metal detector because she was completely exhausted and overwhelmed by how they were acting.
Orlando and Kansas City are the top 2 worst TSA I have ever experienced. I just went through Ft. Lauderdale last month and it was a breeze despite how crowded it was.

We were not actually in a pre-check line. They had a police K9 sniffing everyone in line before we got to the scanners, so I don't know if that made a difference. DH and I started pulling our food, electronics, and liquids bags out, but a security officer told everyone to leave everything in their bags.
Orlando is a CF. I hate it!! It’s also the airport that pushed us to do pre-check. Worth it!!! Last time we breezed through security in 3 minutes. Every other time it’s been 30 minutes to an hour and TSA is straight up mean.

Thanks for this, we are flying out of Orlando tomorrow. I had to do this on the way here and I had no idea this is a thing now. They completely didn’t care about DS’s RTF liquid formula but somehow his graham crackers and baby wipes are now security threats. Can someone tell me the background of what prompted this?

The rules change if they are using a k9. Twice in the last year in Florida (once rsw, once ft lauderdale) they shut down the precheck line and made us all the all walk past the dog. What a cluster. My whole family has precheck so what should have taken 10-15 minutes took 1-2 hours.
