I'm heading to bed. A long day of unwinding after getting home from CXNats. I'm taking some time off of riding and exercising to recover. Today will be getting caught up on some things around the house and if the weather cooperates (ie just cold and not cold and raining), I'll wash the bikes & car after their mudbaths this week.
A LBS is closing next week. (nothing to do with the Performance bankruptcy-the closure has been planned for a while). They are having a party at the shop tonight that I plan to go to.
Stayed up way too late last night to have a 4:30 alarm, but I'm up for a holiday light run through the village and then breakfast afterwards. AT least it will be quiet on the streets at this hour. I'll be home from all of that before DH even wakes up :-). We have an ugly sweater party later with some college friends.

I’m meeting my running group for a very wet and muddy 14-mile trail run. It’s been raining since yesterday, and it’s supposed to rain for the entire weekend. I hope this run is better than what I’m imagining. I’m sure I will be covered in mud when it’s over.
After I get home and cleaned up, I’m going to a holiday party.
Gym for weight lifting Santa pictures (at the gym. I believe I’ve bragged on how amazing my gym is) DS has fencing practice Meal prep H and I are doing a Date Night In box tonight. It’s cool, you cook dinner together w the recipes they give you, there’s like 3 cheesy activities and drink mix and candle. Sadly it’s been sitting on our counter since August and we are just getting around to it.
I’m being lazy this morning, but will hop on my bike later. My hamstring is still messed up from last weekend. Ugh. I’m taking DD2 to a Christmas play and then I have a happy hour with my running group later. Also, we did it Washington DC locals! Wettest year on record. SO Exciting ** 😔
Did a jingle bell jog this morning and got a new 5k PR of 22:50!! That's 1:41 faster than my previous best (from about a year ago).
It was in Hoboken, so I took the train back to Manhattan and then did an easy run home from there, so 12 miles total run.
I think I'm going to focus on speedwork and training for 5k distance over the next 2-3 months, because really the last year I've been focused on half marathon training. I've seen overall pace improvements, but now I'm really eager to see what can I do if I focus on that specifically...

Thank you! I wanted under 23:00 and now I’m excited to set a new goal.
