Good morning...I've been at work since 5 AM. I'm officially over hours so I'll be quitting around 10:30-11. DD rode the bus home and managed to miss it at 6 PM so she had to wait until midnight to get on the next bus. She got in at 4:30 AM so I grabbed her and then came into the office to kick some ass. I've gotten some stuff done and there's not a soul in the building, so it's been glorious!
After I escape work, DD and I might be looking for a dog since she's gotten the green light to have one at school. Then we'll have dinner with DS before I take him to his dad's for the weekend. Not sure what else we'll do tonight.
Tomorrow BF and I are going on a fun Christmas type date....a local place has a beer and cookies pairing, then we'll do a walking Christmas lights thing and then seeing Die Hard. Sunday I'm going to BF's church in the morning, brunch with my ladies, then a Christmas party at BF's friend's house and then to my church for Christmas Eve Eve service. Monday I'm making/serving a meal with a few of my friends. DS will be home at some point and DD has to work. Christmas we'll do the normal wake up, presents, hang out. DD has to work, so DS and I might go to see the new Transformers movie.
I'm soooo excited about the long weekend!!! I need a recharge!

I had a little wrench thrown in my weekend plans, LOL.
We were supposed to have 2 other couples over as P was going to smoke some ribs. However, I woke up at 3am Thursday morning and threw up a couple times. We got frozen yogurt earlier in the night so not sure if my stomach was just really upset or I had a mild virus. Ended up canceling plans, whomp whomp. Soooo not much planned until Monday.
Monday I have A TON of things to prep for the holiday and we are doing our annual Chinese food feast with my family. Christmas morning we will do the whole present thing, then we are having P's parents and my mom over for Xmas brunch as P's mom threw a low-key tantrum about the holiday. Later we will do Christmas dinner at my sister's house.
Oh hey! I took today off. Before you get too jealous, I’ve been hanging out at a Ford dealership for over an hour waiting on an oil change and tire rotation. Fun day off, right?
After this, I’m going to go enjoy a daylight ride with Owen. It’s been pouring for days, but I’m probably still going to ride outdoors for the novelty of being able to ride in daytime on a weekday. Winter is too long to spend the whole time riding in circles in our indoor arena.
And then, grocery shopping. I’m hoping it’s less crowded on a Friday afternoon than it’ll be over the weekend.
This weekend is cleaning and Christmas prep. I’ll probably spend a chunk of Sunday making pies. Thanks to a backorder, Ms gift isn’t even going to ship until January now (ordered in November and they couldn’t bother to respond to me until yesterday - thanks, assholes!), so now I’m feeling bad that the pups have stockings stuffed, I’ve mailed wrapped gifts to all my family, but there’s nothing to wrap for M. Wife fail!
My younger sister and her husband arrive at midnight Saturday night and I get to be the taxi cab. They noramlly arrive at the ass crack of dawn so I am not sure which is better/worse for me on my day off. Their arrival starts a whirlwind week of family stuff. Tubing, skiing, Top Golf, bowling and I am sure some other things I am forgetting. It will be fun but I know I will need a vacation the following week.
bullygirl979 Hope you feel better. There is a nasty stomach bug going around the schools here and I am seeing all over FB tons and tons of families all getting it. I ma walking around with lysol wipes basically attached to my hands to avoid it.
doriswe, that sounds like a lot of fun. I'm glad you get to leave early today
spindle92, Your weekend/week sounds like a lot of fun too.
I'm going out tonight for a friend christmas dinner, leaving for our trip! Can not wait. I also learned I am off until the 7th. I knew I had next week off but since I'm new and this is a small company we close until the 7th! Woah. Every year its 2 weeks so next year my ass is heading to South America for Christmas.
Also i cashed in some skymiles and am heading to DC for a day in March to watch my team play it's first game. I've never been to an away game and it should be awesome.
Tonight I'm going to a Christmas music concert with a friend from book club. Tomorrow I think I'm going to a baby's first birthday party. Either today or tomorrow I need to go pick up three raisin bread, spinach pasta sheets, and Baci. Sunday I'm heading to my parents' house and may or may not make an apple pie once I get there. Monday I'll be making apple pie if it's not done Sunday, then making the bolognese and collaboratively assembling the lasagna with my mom. I'm also going to be prepping the french toast casserole for Christmas morning. I still need to wrap presents and get cards!
Christmas day my mom does the cooking, which is nice. I'm heading home the day after Christmas and then I have no other plans. I'm looking forward to all the down time!
I had the day off yesterday and spent time doing christmas prep, had a date, and spent time with the fam.
Today i am drinking a free caribou coffee, wrapping gifts, making some food for our early family christmas tomorrow, and maybe going to see aquaman. Tonight is birthday dinner with my friends!
Sunday we are having a family christmas for my aunt at the nursing home. It's also a mini reunion with a few family members we haven't seen in years, due to our family rift and drama. It's not everyone, but i am so thankful to reconnect with them.
Christmas eve and day will be with my immediate family and my niece and nephew! Thankful to be with them.
