Ugh i just finished wrapping, baking, and packing. We leave at 12pm tomorrow but I realllllly need/want a long run before sitting on the train for 8 hours, so I have set my alarm for much earlier than I’d like.

I’m irritated. I was supposed to do a trail run today, but it’s cancelled because the county has started closing all trails when they’re wet (it rained a little bit yesterday). So now I’m planning to meet up with a different group who is running on paved trails/roads that are open. It’s fine, but not my plan.
I’m worried the 50k I’m training for is going to be cancelled *again* because of these kind of trail closures. It was cancelled last year because of a big storm, which was understandable, but I will be irate if it’s cancelled this year (2019) because it rained a little bit the week before. I need to find a B race.
I'm up and heading out to my LRS group run for 7 miles. It was almost 50 yesterday, but winter is back this morning so I hope there's no black ice on the roads. Wrap-fest later.

You can keep this in mind as a back up. It won’t sell out and they never close this trail. Last year it was snow, then ice, then just a soupy muddy mess. I mean, that sounds horrible, but it won’t be cancelled, lol. The pictures are cracking me up. Why do they look like they are having so much fun?! Up and trying to register for an exam I need to talk. The system is down, probably from everyone trying to register as well. I have lunch with my Dad today and then yoga is planned for the afternoon.

I’m up and done with a 5k. Now I’m finishing getting ready to head to the airport for vacay! Which means no running until next Friday. Which I’m more than ok with!
Got 9.5 miles, then H was late dropping the dog off the at the kennel so we caught the train with like 2 minutes to spare. 😬 thank goodness, THAT would have been a stressful start this holiday trip.
Now I’ve got books, Netflix, and enough tiny bottles of liquor to see me through the train ride. Merry Christmas!

It's a shitshow up here, on the trails, because we had close to an inch and a half of rain yesterday. Combine that with the fact that there's already standing water everywhere, and the county pretty much has no choice but to close the trails for the safety of its visitors and the environment itself.
I talked to some other people who live up in Gaithersburg and I learned it rained more up there than down near me. We just had light rain and drizzle yesterday. The trails we were going to use are downcounty, closer to me, so they were probably fine, but I understand the county would rather not do closures piecemeal.
I won a gift card to a LBS and drove the 40 (eek) mile round trip today to use it. I had to go up there to talk to someone about some upcoming races anyway. I bought a chainwhip (takes cassettes off of rear wheels) only to discover that I already had one at home when I went to put it away. Anyone want a used chainwhip in good condition? $15 paid inc. shipping? They are about $29 new.

Potentially. I actually got a new set of wheels and was trying to figure out the best way to make one of my old ones a permanent trainer wheel and was told either get some tool (which I’m guessing this is the tool) or buy a new cassette. So is it easy to use with a YouTube video? If so, I’ll take it!
