I'm still waiting for my period to start. It's fairly predictable these days, so the fact that it isnt cooperating now since I'm ready to start bcp in prep for our FET is mildly annoying. I feel like I may start today, but who knows. I'm not even entertaining the idea that I might be pregnant, because out of the 7+ years we've spent TTC that's never happened on our own.
ETA: apparently I just needed to verbalize that my period hadn't started to get things going. Here we go I guess!
I just paid for my first IVF cycle. We're starting in a few weeks but I wanted to pay it now so I can use it for my 2018 taxes. I'm scared but excited. Freaking out since this clinic doesn't hand hold and I live 7 hours away from them but they're also a fraction of the cost of the RE I was at for my failed IUI's.

G22 I've been in the same boat! I am also like clockwork but this was my first period after that polyp surgery earlier this month which I guess caused it to be different. I started spotting on my normal day but it was weird/slightly concerning and she was adamant I couldn't start the BCP on the 1st unless I started my period by the 30th. So I've been going back and forth on whether or not that weird spotting "counts" or if I need a normal flow. Thank goodness last night, in the 11th hour, a normal flow started so I'm good to start the BCP tomorrow!
It's so frustrating when we need it to work like it always does and it doesn't. Fingers crossed for you!
chocolatepie I'm glad yours finally showed up too! I called my RE and got my script for bcp before the weekend since the office will be closed until Wed. So I figured, of course my period wouldn't start on time. Ugh.
My mock transfer came go as planned now next week though.
Since AF showed up, I plan to enjoy a few drinks tonight to ring in the new year. It hopefully be the last ones I have for awhile, and not just because I'm cycling!
Still working out the insurance stuff. My first round of med will be $4800 with insurance or $7275 without insurance, not including my HGH, which will probably be another $2k. Still waiting to see what my insurance says about costs for the actual IVF itself. Wheee! Because we're still working it out, we moved it back a month. I'll get my period any day now, but I'll start IVF with the next one.
Hi everyone. Looks like lots of stuff coming up for everyone I hope everything moves forward as planned for everyone.
We actually stayed up till midnight. I still can't see the re until I get a new referral which I can't get until the end on Feb when I see my doctor so right now in a holding plan. Which is fine because ei want to see how our taxes this year will play out since the laws changed and I held a contractor job. My period is due at the end of this week.
Happy New Year all! I am so glad the holidays are over, phew!
I had my ERA biopsy this morning - OUCH! It was very quick though. I get to stop taking the Estrace and the PIO shots, and only 4 more days of the Prometrium suppository. Then just waiting for CD1 and we move into a frozen transfer cycle. I guess/hope they get the ERA results by then?
I’m both really excited to finally transfer and also terrified. I am tempted to take a 1 month break, but I also don’t want to delay.

We got our genetic screening results back...DH isn't a carrier for anything and I'm a carrier for 1 thing, but since he isn't, they don't recommend any further testing, woohoo!
Just waiting for my period to start...which will be any day now...and then I'll go on BCP to prep for our retrieval cycle. BCP wasn't part of my previous (failed) cycle, for those who have been on it before, how long do they usually keep you on it before starting stims? I'm just trying to get an idea of when we'd be retrieving while we wait for my period. I did my HSG the other week and all went well...my left side didn't want to cooperate, but she saw enough to say it's fine and we don't need to worry.

Yay for clean genetics!
I usually did BCPs for like 2-3 weeks. And start Lupron about a week before stopping BCPs. Get a period, and start stims about a week after stopping BCPs.

That’s great news! I was on BCP for 10 days my first retreival cycle.

I'm on BCP for about 4 weeks this time, I dont remember last time. Bcp and Lupron will overlap by about a week before the bcp is stopped.
I think the BCP are giving me mild nausea. Not only did it start the day I started them, but I feel no nausea until after taking the pill each morning. I've tried making sure to eat food with it, but it doesnt matter. My stomach waivers between mild nausea and just feeling off all day.
I was on this brand last time and dont remember this side effect. Its going to be a fun 4 weeks if it is the BCP.

I told my RE last time that I wen tin for my nurse talk that being back on BCP was the worst thing I'd done with them. I'd rather stim than go back on BCP. I got really bad nausea, intestinal issues, etc. But I will say it got better as my body got used to it. So hopefully the same will be true for you and you'll feel great soon.
stellelinds25, I was on BCP 17 days for my first cycle, 10 days for my second and 15 days for my FET. It varies a lot depending on your schedule, your doctor's schedule and how long they think you'll need to be totally suppressed. No lupron for me so I always stopped BCP and started stims on the 4th day after my last BCP.

I'm glad it got better for you! I only remember my awful mood swings from the BCP last time as my main side effect. I've only been on it for 4 days so it's still early on. I mean, at least its curbing my appetite because nothing sounds good? lol

Years ago when I went on birth control for the first time, I threw up every morning for weeks until I got used to it. I was dreading going back on it for the IF just because of that but so far, haven't had the nausea (different brand, though).
So weird that it's the same brand but you're getting new side effects!
Happy 2019! The Lupron finally started working and our donor started her stims 12/29. I am super pumped and hopeful for the transfer next weekend(ish). I’ve been insanely busy at work but my schedule miraculously cleared today, which was an awesome feeling. Hope everyone is having a good week!
Hi all- I hope it’s ok to jump in here. I’m on cycle 16 TTC with one loss in May, and just had my consult with a RE after my H’s SA showed low motility. I’ve got a HSG scheduled for Tuesday and a plan to do an IUI the next week. I went back and read through old posts and am rooting for all of you on your journeys.

Welcome and good luck with your next steps! Feel free to chime in on any of the weekly threads or ask questions if you have them. Very sorry you’re here but hopefully moving on to try something new will do the trick.

Just stopping in to say that my cycling has been halted, because I ovulated through my BCP. I go back on Monday again, and if necessary, have the cyst aspirated. ER was set for 1/18, so it could be postponed a week or a month.
This was about the least likely outcome at my baseline, so hopefully that means I’m looking at a more fertile year.

I'm sorry you hit this bump in the road, how frustrating. I do hope it means good things as you move forward!

Jalapeñomel I’m sorry your IVF cycle is delayed but I hope you’re able to get back on track quickly! And that your body is cooperating by making some eggs.

I am sorry to hear your cycling has been postponed but yay for your body making eggs.

Hello and welcome. I am sorry about your loss. I hope your hsg goes well, definitely take some ibprofuen before hand is my recommendation. I hope your stay here is short.

Thank you! I hate even getting a pap, so I will remember to do that.
