I’m trying to decide between the Carry On and the Bigger Carry On. Is the carry on really ok for everything you need for a 3-5 day trip? I want to go smaller if I can but not if I’m frustrated there I can’t fit what I need... I’m a slight overpacker and always bring 2-3 pairs of shoes. The comments claim this will fit, but I’m slightly dubious...
If you decide to go with this suitcase, I suggest you get it without the battery. The flight we were on yesterday said that all batteries need to be removed from the luggage, and they cannot be allowed on if the battery cannot be removed.. I think after a certain period, they will not be allowed at all.

the batteries are all removable for this reason. Super easy - you press down and they pop out. I ended up getting the bigger carry on - it’s great!
I had a couple work trips recently and all I could think about was how much that charger that's embedded in the thing would make my life a million times easier. I'm going to start having more work travel, and likely on smaller planes or by train. And my current carry on sucks. When I go to the bathroom and put a tote on top, it tips over, and at 24 inches, hard to cram into a lot of overhead bins.
My birthday is in October, so this may be what I get.

I have one and I love it. I was loyal to Tumi for awhile but the Away is great. People seem to comment on it a lot too.
The funny thing about the charger is I often forget that thing is there! I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been in airports searching for an outline, finally found one, sat down to plug in to the outline and gone, duh! So don’t be like me.
I did get it and I LOOVE it! I can get a ton in it and it easily fits in all overhead compartments. The wheels are great - my kids argue over who pulls it lol. The battery has come in very handy, including our trip to Hawaii we just came back from - each way was two 6 hour flights and on each of the 4 flights we were stuck in older planes with no TVs or outlets (it sucked!). My kids were burning through their iPad batteries lol.
I will say the only thing I don’t like is that you have to fully unzip/open the bag to get things in or out-there’s no quickly pulling something out of stashing your extra sweater away. But that’s my only issue and it hasn’t been a big deal.
I bought H the bigger carry-on and he loves it. It does have the battery but he hasn't had any problems with it, it's super easy to remove. I plan on taking it with me for a 6 day trip to Scotland and I'm sure I'll have enough space to take everything I need.

This is what is making me think I need the one with the outside pocket. I usually rush out of a work thing and head to the airport, and when I get there, I take whenever I can out of my tote and shove into my suitcase to lighten my load.
But the color I want (burgundy) doesn't come in the pocket version. Sigh...
