Happy New Year everyone:) That Oribe dry shampoo from the winter fabfitfun box is amazing. I forget who else posted about it recently. It’s a good thing I’m starting back to school because my beauty routine is getting expensive lol.
A very special thank you to everyone who raved about the LM Caviar sticks. Super happy with the holiday set I bought. I even got in a situation last week where I was outside on a hike in the rain for over an hour and my eyelid color stayed put. Great product.

I used an Ulta gift card to get 2 Juvia's place eyeshadow palettes and blush, plus a Milani prep and soothe oil, a mini stila mascara/eyeliner kit, and some Ulta brand finishing powder. I got a Jade face roller for Xmas, so got the Milani oil to use with that (I do not believe the roller will remove wrinkles or anything, I just think using it cold out of the refrigerator is nice-- and it does feel really good around my jaw and neck where I hold tension). I haven't used the new palettes or blush yet because I've just been at home, but they look super pretty.

I am with you on the jade roller! I got one in a subscription box. I have major sinus issues in the winter, and it feels so damn good pressed on my face. It feels cold even at room temp. It's an amazing mini massage tool.

I also like my jade roller to help my sinus issues. I must have rolled too aggressively around my nose under my eye (where I get the most sinus pressure) because I think I bruised the bone in that area. It hurt to touch the bridge of my nose and wearing my glasses was painful It went away in about a week and the only thing I can think of that caused it was my roller

I’m in love with them too! They are so easy and fast and fabulous. I’ve been wearing them almost nonstop. I almost always get compliments too. The holiday set will be on my must buy list as long as they keep putting them out!
Lot of high end makeup in the clearance section of TJ Maxx. Just picked up a Clinique Lash Power mascara for $4.50 (and in the spirit of my mindful spending pledge, I did need a new mascara).

Well now I’m curious about the jade roller. I so barometric pressure sensitive. I am willing to try anything to help elevate the sinus pressure headaches.
Ulta is laying it on thick for the sample junkies like me. A ton of skincare sales, a sampler bag and a random face mist freebie. I AM running low on some things....
Ulta needs to do a points multiplier promo soon. I need a few things but I want the points😩
It might be awhile :\ They just did one the last week of December. I'm holding out, too.
I know:( I always skip the end of year stuff so my purchases can count toward platinum this year. I know if I don’t wait now they’ll send out a code like immediately after lol.

I need to get back into makeup. Since we moved in June to Florida, I haven’t done much. I’m starting to actually run out of foundations and powders so I need to restock in the next few months. This is the first year I’m not platinum at Ulta in 5 years.
I need foundation recommendations. In the last few months I’ve become more oily in my T-zone with large pores and redness. Also any primer recommendations?

The type of moisturizer used under makeup is huge! I forgot that I had to go out last night and had already put on the First Aid Ultra Hydrating Cream. Anyway, remembered we were going to a happy hour and I went to put on my foundation-it didn’t go on nearly as well as with my usual daytime moisturizer.

I am making my goal for this year "use the good stuff", as far as skincare and makeup. I've just got so much sitting around that I've been accumulating rather than using.
I am doing an international work trip at the end of February and there are a few things I want before then. Nothing fancy -- a new black liquid eyeliner, a refill on my foundation, and a travel-size mascara that isn't going to end up under my eyes by the end of a 14-hour day. Maybe a new lip color.

If your foundation is sold at Ulta, the Beauty Break right now is an IT cosmetics set that includes mascara and liquid liner. I think it's a $50 purchase min.
Has anyone ever had a brand new beauty blender crumble on them after the first use? I opened one of those mystery color BB's that I ordered at the fall Sephora sale. Pieces crumbled off it after the first use.
This year I have dove straight into the make-up game. I used to love it but I have never been very good at it. Now I am obsessed with a few youtubers that review the high end make-up and non high end. So trying to learn from the beginning. Christmas I got a ton of basics to get started. Some of which I liked and some which have fallen flat. I also started a boxycharm monthly box.
This week I am trying a real techniques beauty blender and I am wondering if it's breaking me out. I did a face mask that came in my boxycharm this month and I can't tell if it's that or the beauty blender.

Oh no! That sounds awful. I'd try returning it, especially given their price point.

Will you share who you're watching? I need some good references since I have NO idea what I'm doing.

It depends on my mood. I like to watch Tati although she can get annoying because she goes on weird rants but she does give some pretty good tips and I feel like my method has greatly improved just by following her steps. I also like to watch mystery box unboxing specifically for make-up boxes so Alexandria Ryan because she gets all the beauty boxes and sometimes she shows you a look from them. She is also funny and not so serious. I also love Nicol Concilio as she reviews seem much more unbiased than Tati's.
Ughhhhhh my track record with Ulta remains horrendous. I declined to use my points today at checkout ($9 worth). The associate charged them anyways after she couldn’t figure out how to use my $10 birthday coupon. I just found out by looking at my receipt. Now I’m on the phone with customer service. Every damn time.
ETA: Also the birthday gift is basically worthless because it’s a poop colored liquid lip.

I think Wayne Goss has a lot of good technique videos. They're overall fairly short and he does a good job explaining things.
