I’m toying with the idea of taking the kids to Legoland (by myself) in April. DS2 is dying to go and they have a week vacation in April (DH can’t join then because of work). Kids will be 7 and 12 at that point. Main questions - how many days? Is 2 fine? Also will my 12 year old be bored to death? At Disney world we do a lot of splitting up because ds1 loves big thrill rides and DS2 does not. DH and I went to the original Legoland in Denmark a long time ago and it was very little kid - I’m thinking Florida is a little better for older kids? Thoughts?
One day is fine. The rides are geared toward younger kids. We went when my son was 7 and he enjoyed it, but I don't know that he'd be into the rides now at 10. Your older son may enjoy the miniatures and such.
One day is more than enough, especially at those ages. Your 12 year old might be a tad old, but if he’s still really into Legos he will probably enjoy himself. For reference, my 4.5 year old loves every second of it, and I felt the rides were perfect for his age. We could have spent a full day but left after about 5 hours because we went when it was nearly empty so we got a ton done in that time. On a busier day, a full day would be perfect.
We've had passes this past year at Legoland CA and my 9 1/2 year old and 7 year old enjoy it, but I'll never willingly pay for admission again if I can help it. Our passes are about to expire so we went yesterday and the girls still had a lot of fun. I think the trip would be worth it especially if you think your 12 year old would enjoy seeing his brother have fun.
There seems to be a few more "thrill" rides in FL so I think 2 days (especially if you are going to the waterpark too) is fine. My girls are happy to ride the thrill rides several time in a row while I sit on a bench. They also love the driving school.
I looked at LEGOLAND Florida packages the other day because my kids were watching a video online. Their packages confuse me. They include a second day free ticket but doesn't say if it includes admission for the first day. I can't tell if the price is a 2-day ticket plus 25% off the room. Does anyone know? The 2-day LEGOLAND + water park ticket is $123.99 for kids and $128.99 for adults. I'm trying to figure out what the deal is.
We went to Legoland CA last year and my six yr olds loved it. Don't forget to look for BOGO coupons if you go- I've seen them on the Honest juice boxes and you can get them in Lego blind bags sometimes or from the Lego store.
We took my 8 year old last year. One day was fine. My husband laughed the whole time seeing the all the board tweens. You could really tell they were less than thrilled 😂.
