seeyalater52 from what I have read, Dr. Kwak Kim uses immunology diagnosis codes so more testing is covered? I am finishing the paperwork tonight to fax in tomorrow. Hopefully my records arrive soon so I can schedule... will let you know how far out it is. I don’t even know for sure if we want to try again, but if someone could give insight into why this keeps happening, it would be really helpful.
You know I’m a huge supporter of getting answers! I think it’s trickier when you’re doing RI stuff in conjunction with IVF when infertility treatments are covered by insurance because the process is so much more tightly controlled in terms of what is covered, but I recognize that is an incredibly small segment of the population since coverage is hard to come by. I’m a special snowflake.
IVF added in is more complicated- logistically and insurance wise, for sure. I have read she uses a lot immunology codes though, even infertility related if that’s helpful. I have read people have coverage of testing even without infertility coverage. I hope you can get some answers too!
msmerymac , i had no idea you were considering adoption! Not sure if anyone remembers me from the board a few years ago, but DH and I adopted our son after failed IF treatments in 2017. Let me know if you have any questions!
Yes, thank you!
We have *some* insurance coverage for 2 more IVF treatments, which seems like the past of least resistance right now. But we are 100% comfortable moving to adoption if those don't work out - or even if they do, and we want a second child, adoption seems like it might be the way to go in the future.

Did you do domestic infant adoption?
We did! I got your PM and I PROMISE i'll respond soon! It's a crazy day at work!
I go in next week for baselines for IVF. I'm currently on CD75 thanks to pcos. If all is quiet they'll be able to have me start on stims even without a period.
I went in for my doctors appointment this morning. It was actually NBD. I don’t know why the nurse was giving me the run around. We basically talked about my next steps and got scripts for bloodwork, HSG and sperm analysis. We took care of all the bloodwork today. DH is getting his sperm analysis on Friday with an REs office. I have to wait for CD1 to schedule the HSG with the same REs office. The annoying part is the HSG is only done at an office location over an hour away which means I will probably need to take a full day off of work. Not the worst thing ever, just annoying since they have offices much closer to my house. She advised to wait one cycle to try again but if I get pregnant to call as soon as I got a positive test to be put on progesterone.

I have some movement finally!! I got my period on Thursday, so I went in over the weekend for day 3 labs and US. Heard yesterday that everything looked good, so I started BCP last night and I’ll take that till 1/21...starting stims 1/25 and tentative ER the first week of February. I’m also going in on Monday for my mock transfer. I’m getting excited again and really hoping for better results this time around.
seeyalater52 I’m so sorry you didn’t get any answers from your ERA, that has to be so frustrating. Good luck with your decision about how many to transfer. That’s tough, but you’ll make the right decision for you and your family.
chocolatepie I’m sorry about the mix up! What an annoying fiasco. Hopefully you’re back on track now!

pickel is your transfer coming up? How are things going with the donor cycle?
Hi! Thank you for asking! She is triggering tonight (after 12 days of stims) so ER will be Friday with ET next Wednesday. It’s been the slowest 12 days ever. LOL

Yay that is so exciting! Are you planning a 5 day transfer? Hopefully the next few days pass more quickly than the 12 days of stims!

I’ll find out more on Sat but 5 day transfer is the plan right now. So excited!!
seeyalater52 for my third transfer I transferred two and only one stuck. I can't remember - did you do genetic testing? I transferred two non-concurrent embryos.
Still waiting on insurance stuff. My H is supposed to be following up today with the financial coordinator.
The good news is that my episode of Jeopardy is on tonight. When I auditioned and asked what I would use the money for, I said my husband and I wanted children and we may need to look into adoption, so I'd need a big pile of money.
Later, when I talked to my mom about my audition, she said, "You should have told them you needed the money to adopt!" and I said, "I did."
Late to say this, but we all watched and cheered for you. Which is saying something because normally I default to cheering for the Canadian. You were one cool competitor, and your story was actually good! I also normally hate the stories, haha.

In fairness, the Canadian competitor had a very cool name and was super nice. He also knew where my parents live (2 hours from Ottawa, but on the NY side).
Had my 15 day u/s yesterday and we've been given the green light for a Monday transfer. Yiiiiikes. This really came up on us quickly. I'm nervous. Super nervous.
My results were posted in my chart thing that I can access online, and my lining was 10.9mm. It was 9 last time and 7something the month we transferred what would eventually become DS. I have no idea if having that extra ~2mm will increase our odds, but I'll take it. I doubt it does because I've implanted on all 3 of my past transfers, one being a loss at 6.5 weeks, one DS, and a CP in November. But whatever, we'll see what happens. Fingers crossed for our last little blast.
CD2 here so I’m starting Estrace 3 times a day. I swear this med gives me ulcers and the craziest dreams. Lining check and bloodwork on the 18th - if all looks good I will begin PIO and Prometrium for transfer on the 30th.
My RE prescribes Valium for the transfer, which surprised me a little. Is it very different from an IUI procedure?

I didn't feel a thing at mine. I had a cyst aspirated on monday, and they gave me valium, and it made no difference. I had no valium for either transfers.
However, I'm not really an anxious sort of person when it comes to medical stuff, so that probably makes a difference. I've also had a vaginal birth, so maybe that is also part of it.

Valium is more to keep the uterus from contracting during transfer, although it is nice for the nerves too.
Mock transfer went off without a hitch today. RE said he wished they were all that easy. Lol I mentioned in the other post that it was strongly suggested that I start the Keto diet because my labs show I have some insulin resistance. So that's going to be fun.

Ok great! Only 1 of my 6 IUIs was painful, and that was the speculum more than anything. I’ll take the Valium and enjoy the nap afterwards!

Good to know, thanks! I think anticipation will be the worst part, so hopefully the Valium helps that as well!
