Today: grocery shopping, bagels, run, park, insurance issues. Busy day but productive so that’s good. Tues: Disneyland with the boys! We invited my step dad’s wife so we’ll see if she joins us. Also need to run when we get home. Weds: preschool, physical for me, run Thurs: run, park, chores Fri: preschool, run, chores Sat: soccer, run, family time Sun: family time and run
I am kicking butt with my fitness challenge! I have run every day with the boys and so far have 42.3 miles in for the year! It says I am in the top 1% (983 out of 83k+)! I have also started taking C with me during nap time when DH is home and it’s awesome because I can go further (because it’s just him and he doesn’t have anyone to fight with) and he also tends to nap, which he rarely does at home (although he is today...bribing him with his tablet might have helped!!)! Even though I still have him with me it feels much more like “me time” than my runs with both of them during the week...plus it gives us good quality time when he’s awake, which we don’t get a ton of and I miss!
I hate making calls but today I sucked it up and made all of them. I have one more to make tomorrow but H has to be there so they’ll let me talk to them.
I’m trying to get all my ducks in a row to get a full blown start on my goals for February. I’ve introduced a few of my goals and have been doing well. All these calls etc are mostly for my/our financial goals so everything today really was like a weight lifted.
I work the rest of the week with some chores mixed in.
+++ I need to take down all thmy Christmas stuff this week!
I rejoined the gym today! I did my body test to see my body fat and stuff and it was pretty interesting! My weight was a lot better than I thought it would be but my fat percentage was higher than I'd like of course. But now I'm going to work on it!
Morbid/sad stuff: We got home today and E said there was a cat in the garage. Yup there was.. not alive Ugh. Now E keeps talking about the dead cat, asking why it "got dead" and asking where it went. Poor thing. H thinks it's the one he shooed out of there a few days ago. I'm not sure when or how it snuck back in. I think it's a stray but I feel terrible if someone is looking for their cat!

My brother and nephew are visiting. My brother’s ex didn’t tell him how bad he is coughing. Today the poor guy looked horrible. I got home from work and they both were asleep. My nephew is sleeping on the couch and i would feel bad if I woke him up so I’m watching tv on my tablet in our room. Hopefully H doesn’t wake him up when he gets home.
I need to get to the gym this week. I want to upgrade my membership to include classes and a guest so I can bring H. We started taking vitamins and supplements again but since it’s been so long they are upsetting my stomach.
Apparently we really surprised MIL and FIL when we bought them an air fryer for Christmas and they think it’s the best thing ever. FIL finds new recipes on Facebook and tries them. It’s cute to see them so excited for a kitchen appliance and finally figuring out how to find recipes online.
@ We leave for Florida on Saturday and E turns one on Sunday! I can’t believe his babyhood went by so fast. We are doing two days at Disney—day one will be a character breakfast, Disney Springs, seeing animals at Animal Kingdom Lodge, naps and swimming, if the weather is nice. Day 2 is Magic Kingdom! On the other days, we have E’s birthday party, seeing manatees, and possibly driving to the beach. I can’t wait.
Also, I really, really miss my pain in the butt dog. He was my shadow, and I can’t believe I will never see him again.
luv2rn4fun, awesome job with all that running, I'm impressed! estrellita, way to go on rejoining the gym! I've been interested in joining one myself, but I've literally never set foot in a gym in my whole life and I wouldn't even know what to do. I'm embarrassed at my lack of knowledge. Also, when are you planning to go and work out? Even if I have the courage to join one, I just can't figure out when I would have the time. The only option would be if I picked my kids up at daycare and took them directly to gym daycare. I need more hours in the day.
I have a lot of things I need to accomplish, but no time to do them. I need to get blood work done and I desperately need a much overdue oil change and recall service for my car. I also haven't had a haircut since last spring and my glasses literally snapped in half last night because they are so old. I am leaning toward taking a personal day to tackle at least some of these things.
Blue Moon The gym is at my work so I'm planning on going right after work a couple days a week. H and I will either drive separately (we usually carpool) or he will go get the kids, then pick me up. Last night we got home at the same time with me stopping to get a prescription on the way, so it worked pretty well. I also could go before work but I'm weird about showering there and don't want to be smelly if I get sweaty. Lol. I'm not sure if deodorant and dry shampoo would be enough!
I totally get how you feel about the gym. I've definitely been there. My confusion is with the locker room. I don't care much about changing my shirt or pants around other people but I'd want to change into a sports bra. How do you do that discreetly? Lol.
Wed: hair appointment in AM, meeting and IV iron infusion in PM (I'm officially anemic, yay). Fortunately, they wanted me to do the infusion at my hospital so I'm doing the infusion DURING my meeting, lol.
Thurs: on call, so who knows.
Fri: growth ultrasound in AM, simulation for work in PM, parent-teacher meeting at daycare after that.
I have a random. So the little Halos/Cuties oranges (mandarins, clementines, whatever)? Why don't they come in smaller bags? Like 6 or 8 in a bag. We never go through the entire bag before they've started go soft and bad.

I would LOVE if we could buy them in smaller quantities! We rarely buy them because of that (plus the ones we see at the store look crappy most of the time, lol). I feel like even if all 4 of us ate one per day we still wouldn't go through them before they go bad!
Just got notice that DC costs are going up. They told us they'd increase slowly.. but it's going up about $70 a week for us! That's insane and I'm pissed. They also fed A something with garlic in it the other day and caused a reaction. I'm so over this place!!
estrellitapooh8402- we have the opposite problem here. The boys can easily eat 6-10/day. I often buy two 3 lb bags on Monday and they might last til weds or thurs. L especially loves them and will just keep eating them.
estrellita- so sorry to hear about the daycare issues. That’s very frustrating 🙁
We had a great day at Disneyland today! It was just me and the boys which was also nice! We went for a run when we got home and I even made dinner!
Oh, and I was able to schedule my dentist appointment and also registered for the parenting class for C (it starts next Tuesday and goes til 9pm in a city 30 min away...it’s going to be a long day for 4 weeks but hopefully worth it).

DH has to work again Saturday. I told him I was going to go to Disney again by myself. If looks could kill lol. He didn’t think that joke was funny. I figured I would go to the beach then catch up on some tv shows.
There are so many places to eat where we live except we tend to go to the same places. I was thinking of putting all the places we want to try in a coffee can then pull out a place to try when we want to go out. I actually talked H into trying another place Sunday but that’s only because I have a coupon for a free shrimp appetizer.
We are finally emerging after a 24 hour virus went through our house the last week. I'm the only one that didn't get sick. I'm so ready to get out of this house.
We seem to be really busy lately, but not with anything exciting.
wineandcheese- looks like you had a great solo day at Disney! So happy for you! Also, when we were first married, I painted popsicle sticks (the wider ones) 3 different colors and we wrote on them date ideas (color coded for free, low expense, and expensive). You could do something like that as well! I want to redo them and add things we can do with the kids and new dates that are closer to where we live now.
bk1- glad you guys are feeling better! How is your DH’s new job?
Need to try to go to the grocery store and get the items they didn’t have this weekend, run, and park this morning! Will invite our friends to see if they can come.
@@@@ C has napped the last 4 days! I have been rewarding him with an hour of his tablet (he doesn’t get any other screen time so I am ok with it...plus, he needs his nap). I wake him after an hour or so and it’s been great for his behavior! He still has issues when someone doesn’t do what he asks (gets physical). We see his pediatrician on Mon and I start a parenting class on Tues night!
luv2rn4fun It's going well, thanks for asking! He is making it home by 5 most nights which is amazing. He seems to be enjoying it so far. Unfortunately he missed a yearly regional meeting this week while he was sick, but there was nothing he could do about it. We both believe this was a great career move and transition for him.
It’s a winter wonderland here! It’s been snowing non-stop since last night at 4pm. We have 8 inches and expected to get up to 15! So so so fun!!! It’s so beautiful. H and I are going to take a lovely winter walk later. We haven’t had this much snow in the 6 years we’ve lived here. I’m so excited!

My mom adopted a cat from the shelter last weekend. She’s about 5-6 years old and was at the shelter for 6 months so she needs time to get used to her new home. Everyday my mom texts me a play by play of what the kitty is doing lol. My mom wants to snuggle her something fierce but the cat is still getting used to her and her new home. The daily messages, including if she used the litter box, is funny. She’s a very pretty cat. Mostly black with green eyes. I think she looks like toothless from How to Train Your Dragon. My mom is too funny at times.

I had such an awesome night last night! I definitely needed that. My BFF was in town. She and her H came to see the kids for a bit (and told us they're going to start TTC soon! Eee!). We dropped the kids off at ILs then we all met up with another friend for dinner and went out after. We played darts at one of our old college bars and went to see another friend play with his new band. I was sitting there listening to the music and just thinking how much I felt like a human again. It was awesome
