I'm working remotely today, so I'm currently in R's bed, wearing pjs, drinking coffee, working and watching the R. Kelly docuseries. Eventually, I'll relocate to my couch. Tonight I may take DS to see the Bumblebee movie. Tomorrow I'm getting real wild and getting an oil change and possibly going to R's son's basketball tournament. Sunday I'm taking the kids to my bff's house for the day to hang out. DD hasn't seen them in over a year and was asking to see them before she heads back to school.
Super exciting weekend planned for me. I will be painting. I am the slowest painter because I am super anal about edging but that shit looks amazing when I am done. (No one but me notices. LOL!) My goal is to get 2 bedrooms and my office done but we shall see how far I get.
All day today I'm at a training instead of at work. I'm excited for that because it means a 45 minute later start time than usual. It should be a really good and interesting training, too.
Tonight I have hip hop class and then I think I'm getting together with a coworker. Tomorrow is a pampering day: facial waxing, a mini-facial, and getting my nails done. In the evening, I'm doing an escape room with friends! Sunday I've been invited to my friend's dog's 1st birthday party.
I'm also WFH today - have to enjoy it before it disappears from my current company, LOL.
Phone interview this afternoon - woot! I'm really hopeful this will be a good fit, although I'm planning to ask a lot of questions about the position itself, as it's often difficult to get a good idea of the day-to-day activities of a position just based on a few bullet points in a job posting.
It's freezing cold and would normally be a perfect weekend for skiing, but I doubt M will be recovered enough from his man cold to go out and have fun. So instead, I may go take my new wetsuit and mask/fins/snorkel to a local HS pool to try them out before packing it all for a dive next month.
Oh yeah, we're going to FL for a holiday weekend in Feb to visit my parents, and we're going to go swim with the manatees and then dive in the warm(ish) rivers. I'm insanely excited to maybe give a manatee a belly rub like a 1000lb freshwater puppy, lol.
spindle92 I am the same type of painter. I'm so slow and OCD that I annoy myself, and then no one admires my fabulous edging or the fact that I did an extra coat to ensure complete coverage. LOL

we can admire each others edging skills from a far!
Also, I need honest opinions - just how ugly/unprofessional looking is carrying a backpack to work? My neck and shoulders would sure appreciate if I stopped carrying a big laptop-holding tote on one shoulder, but I feel like a school kid playing dress up when I think about wearing a backpack over a blazer in the office. M is all about it, but that's coming from a tech guy who wears skinny jeans to work. I'm the suit/finance side, LOL.
doriswe, I wish I could work remotely. That would be amazing. My h has been all week and I've been a bit jealous.
This weekend will be good. I'm thinking about doing two yoga classes back to back a hot flow followed by a warm yin class tomorrow morning. I would like to get my hair cut too. Saturday night I am going to see Sh!t faced Shakespeare with some friends. This local comedian group puts on the show. (before the show 1 of the actors gets shit faced and they don't tell the audience who it is. They also give the audience three things to ring/play if they feel the actor is sobering up and they have to shoot a beer on stage.) My h and I saw a Midsummer Night's dream last year and had such a good time. I am a little sad because one of my friends who is going is less than two weeks away from moving back to Australia.

You won't be carrying it all that long. I would do the backpack over a wheelie bag all day long.
I'm also in a pretty lax industry. When I am on site I have a backpack that has everything in it for me to function and not run around like a crazy person. Laptop, plans, scale, paint some tools etc.
chalupa, I carried a backpack for years instead of a tote...I only recently switched to a messenger bag. I feel like guys get to carry backpacks, why shouldn't I?
And I was very attached to my backpack. I had literally carried it around the world with me. It made me feel confident because it was a symbol of all the places I'd been.
I say carry what makes you comfortable and confident. Backpacks rock!
I do not have exciting plans for the weekend... freelance work and step work are in the cards...and I'm going to spend some time on Rent the Runway...because I have to go to a fancy work party in February From what I have heard, people like to really dress up for this thing. A quote: "We haven't seen a tux yet, but I wouldn't be surprised."
Will you guys help me pick out a dress for this thing? I haven't worn a dress since my wedding dress almost ten years ago.
SwimDeep, I will I like getting dressed up. I don't often have the chance to do it. My old neighbor used to go to all sorts of fancy dress things and used RTR a lot.
