Solidarity, k3am . I am forever making DH push the mattress to be flush with the headboard, can’t stand that he uses separate bedding from me and for real cannot sleep if 1) king pillow is in a full case or 2) the fitted sheet corner has come off.
Honestly what kind of sociopath could sleep under those conditions??
If I forget to make the bed one day (or get up and leave before DH is out of bed), I MUST remake the bed before I get in it. I will retuck fitted sheet and smooth, shake out and redistribute top sheet, blanket, comforter, fluff and replace pillows, and then immediately climb in. Been with DH for 15 years.
For the first 10 he would just stare at me blankly. Now helps. I've broken him.

I definitely do this. DNW to climb into bed with twisted, mangled sheets and blankets. I have finally gotten through to DH to make the bed if he is up last. I have to make the bed made on the off chance someone will sit on my sheet with street clothes.
mae0111, our cleaners suck at making beds. DH always acts like it's NBD, because no one actually sees it. But then he also complains when our sheets are all messed up. I basically want to shoot him.
Also FWP... I think we may be nearing the end of our cleaners. The bed thing just kills me. They also just toss loose items whereever they feel like it. (It took us two days to find DH's slippers that they put behind the couch - everything on DD's floor - mostly stuffies - ends up in her laundry bin.) They also never have availability, if I want to have them come another day or the time they have open doesn't work, we have to skip until the next week. But the price is good and I've never had anyone else that could clean my bathrooms and kitchen as good as I clean them.

Related to these FWP - a FFFC: I never make my bed, nor do I make the kids make their beds. I just never saw the point - you are going to get back in it at night anyway. But somehow I feel like I'm failing my fundamental duty as parent by not teaching my kids.

😳😯😱
I’m just kidding. I encourage my kids to make their beds, but they don’t. It makes me shudder every night when they get into a messy bed, but I know it’s my problem and they don’t care.
I only make the kids make their beds when they clean their room weekly. Same growing up and I now make my bed everyday. So there is hope. I started doing it from Flylady because her method of cleaning is make bed first then put stuff from floor in bed to be sorted.
I worry about this with folding since I folded as a kid but my kids don’t fold laundry. We have a laundry table so I just fold when I pull it out. Or for a while I made them sort from the dryer and put in their drawers. I didn’t require folding because it got messed up anyway in their drawers.
traveltheworld, beds only consistently get made when the cleaners do it or if we're having guests over. I remake the bed after the cleaners do it, and usually redo ours once a week if the sheets get too twisted. I would love our bed to be made daily, but I get out of bed before DH and he won't do it.
Dying at the bed comments! My favorite part of sleeping in a hotel is that the sheets are SO TIGHT and tucked in perfectly. I cannot handle the sheets even slightly out of place when I'm trying to go to sleep. I have finally been able to start making my bed each morning now that XH isn't staying in bed for hours past my wake up time and it feels like I finally have my shit together. Kids' beds.... eh. I can't even handle the mess of those. So many pillows, stuffies, blankets everywhere. But they don't care so I don't care.
Dh's FWP. I finally got him to set up his calendar. He needs the notifications because he has been clueless on the schedule lately. He wanted me to set up a recurring event for the weekends he is off. Now he is mad because his calendar reminded him he was off today. SMH.
I have one. Remember late in Dec when DH threw a fit and demanded that I get him an additional present from the kids and take them shopping. While I get it is good to take them, it was last minute, after I was done shopping, and I had done all the shopping for my family and his except for 2 items.
So I get him his request which was a record player. Whatever- Amazon because that is all the bandwidth I have.
I see in my email he set it up to return and go with a different record player. Why demand when you just want whatever you want anyway and should just buy it yourself?
ETA- I asked him about it and he said it doesn’t work with his Bluetooth speaker. Um it’s a record player...

Our house cleaner normally makes our bed for us once per week when she puts new sheets on. We take the sheets off and put sheets out for her to put on the bed.
However, periodically a kid wets a bed or a cat throws up in our bed. In those cases we have to do a mid week changing of the sheets and so my kids have helped me make the bed. The periodic making of the bed being surrounded by vomit or urine definitely makes me think my kids are learning to grow up in a gross environment.
