I have had enough of ATT to last a lifetime. I bought DD a phone on a buy one get one promotion. I actually went in to just replace my phone and buy outright and mentioned how DD was getting a phone for Christmas. They said I should do the BOGO. So I did. For the last 3 months they have been charging me for the free phone. 5 calls at around 45 minutes a piece. They are trying to tell me that this phone was not in the promotion. I didn't go in after the promotion. This is the phone they offered in the store. I hate this company. Any time I deal with them, I ask what the monthly bill will be and every time you get the bill it is not anywhere near what the quote you.
I have emailed my attorney general. Are we just supposed to get screwed by these companies. ATT is really the only coverage we have where we live. Now I am spending my lunch at the physical store so they can file something with the company.
I realize there are bigger problems in the world, but getting screwed sucks.

Our monthly bill for AT&T is so high. I just don’t have time to research which cell phone company has the best rates. Be transparent. They pretend like they are but then, like you said, you get the bill and it’s $100 higher! DH has been thinking about switching because of patchy coverage when he gets into central/southern IL. I’m hoping to get a good deal on phones and rates if we do.
rere, ATT has the worst costumer service ever. My BIL is trying to cancel his dad's cell phone plan and he is getting the run around on why they can't he is in contract, blab, blab, blab. BIL has shown them the death certificate, gone through multiple people all to tell him no they can't do it. I think he also took it up with the attorney generals office. I don't get why communication firms are so crappy at communication. Comcast and Century Link aren't any better than ATT.

We have Verizon because it's the best coverage in our area, but we've had problems with them too. I tried to pay off my phone early and it unleashed months of problems with the bill and multiple 30+ minute calls with customer service to get it all straightened out.
I'm sure they're just waiting to turn 5G on and for everyone's brains to get fried by 5G, and then no one will have enough brain cells left to even question their cell bills. (I'm only half kidding. 5G really does worry me.)
186momx- Just stop paying the dead dad’s bill. I’m sure they’ll figure out how to cancel service, and what are they going to do- ruin a dead man’s credit? Unless of course someone put him on their plan, in which case they are probably screwed.
We are switching to Verizon. My AT&T gripe is we get no service in our neighborhood. When the AT&T folks come to our house, they have to stand in the middle of the street a block away to get enough service to communicate with their home office. But if you call and tell them that, they will inform you that their maps show our coverage to be excellent. So it must be what our house is built out of. But hilariously, our bizarre house material (um, standard brick) allows Verizon to work in our house.
mommyatty, no idea but that was my suggestion and it fell on deaf ears. I'm staying out of it.
I have that problem with Verizon and my house. They said I have coverage but with the airport so near it could be compromised. I had to sit at the sliding door to be able to talk on the phone. Verizon solution at the time was for me to buy the latest phone and see if that would fix it. ATT at least lets me walk and talk throughout the house and yard but I now only deal with the corporate store in town when I have issues.
We have trouble in our house with Verizon also, and have the phones switch to WiFi calling at home. Not a great fix, but it works well enough. I just try to stay out of all of it, and have DH handle it.
Total FWP with the federal shutdown. But its grad student admissions season. And a bunch of the faculty in my department are waiting to hear back about proposals from the federal agencies. So we don't know if we can hire or have funding. Meanwhile potential students are flooding my email, asking if I know if I am hiring. No, because I don't know if I can pay you.
I'm looking for flights on Southwest but you can't book kids fares online. My friend told me I need to call to see if they have any kids seats left and you can't look online. Is this for real? Who calls for flight reservations anymore!? FWP that I don't have the time or energy to call.

Yes that's for real, but my understanding is that those seats will be discounted from their "anytime" tickets.
If you are buying "wanna get away" tickets, those will be cheaper than a kid ticket anyway.
rere same thing happened to my brother and his H. the finally got it resolved and are now getting a credit for the BOGO phone. (we are all on the same plan)
FWP: 98% of my door dash orders consist of me spending half an hour searching for food before deciding that a delivery fee + service charge + tip makes it something I don’t want to do.
The State championship swim meet is coming up in March so I have been keeping an eye out on a new tech suit for my oldest. I don't mind paying $100-$150 for a suit but it blows my mind that some parents pay $400+. It just seems like its become a competition to see who can afford the "fastest" suit and I will never win that contest. My state has a ban on tech suits for 10U, that starts the year she turns 11.

My FWP vent is that my stylist and colorist just notified me that she switched salons and it’s now an extra 15 minutes further than my usual salon. Which doesn’t seem like a lot but when it’s tax season and DH is working late and on weekends, I don’t have a lot of flexibility. Thankfully she said she’d come in on Sunday for me. I also prefer Aveda salons and this is not one. Guess I’ll be tipping her nicely for coming in but not buying product. But I still don’t want to go to a new salon. Foot stomp.
DH has had a Tesla Model 3 for about a year and he's really funny about keeping it nice. It's the nicest car we've ever had and I only drive it every once in awhile. So I drove it the Friday before last (he took my car to go camping with DD), and I immediately scratched the passenger side rims on the curb by taking a turn too tight. I found a mobile rim repair guy to come to my office the same day and I paid 300 bucks (150 per rim) to have it fixed, and it looked perfect. Then DH comes to my firm's delayed holiday party on Tuesday and tells me he just scratched the rims on the curb. Exact same two rims. So that's 300 bucks down the drain 4 days later. I was like "well, I know a guy...." and admitted I'd just had them fixed. Ugh.
This has not been my week. DS doesn't want to ride the bus to school anymore. I get it. He has to leave 25 minutes earlier and be on the bus for 40 minutes. So I have been taking him. The school is not far from my work, but it adds about 10-15 minutes to my commute. I already get up at 5:30. I work out, grab a quick breakfast, shower, get ready, sometimes throw something in a crockpot, grab my lunch and go at 7:00. I am now frantically running around to make up time. I really don't want to get up any earlier. Plus I miss my quiet time in the morning with talk radio and coffee. I guess at least I get more time with him. Sometimes he has some news to share, mostly he is half asleep.
This morning, I forgot I had a health screening for insurance and missed the exit for the school. Good times.
I am on day 4 of less than 3 hours of sleep per night. Over the years, DH has gone through phases of leg twitching. For the last couple of months, they've been more consistent; the past few nights they've been nearly constant. He shakes the whole bed. So I'll just be drifting off to sleep... SHAKE. I'll settle again... SHAKE.
I know the causes. It's stress, nicotine, too much caffeine... trifecta for him. He's stressed out because his work volume is through the roof, so he vapes more - increasing his nicotine... and he's not sleeping well with the twitching, so he's drinking more coffee... He also knows the causes, and refuses to admit it. So, I've been in the guest room all week. We don't heat the guest room, so when I leave in the middle of the night, I'm walking into a 55 degree room, and wake right up... Last night I slept 230-6.
DD1 loves the music from Hamilton. but listening to it is resulting in millions of questions about American history, most of which I don't know the answers to - and she asks while we are driving so I can't look them up.
My face hurts....I did an e appointment and got sinus infection meds. I just need to find time to pick them up today. Maybe leave work early? I was lying face down on the couch last night, and DD asked if my face hurt.
I’ve found around here that there is an ATT store and ATT authorized dealers. They both carry the logo but the authorized dealers say so in a very small print, and the authorized dealers are much worse at the hard sell. Also, any of you with high costs, check out your account online and the option for other plans, I overpaid for YEARS for a plan with less and wish I’d checked sooner.
FWP: I bought the My Pillow because I think it was here that everyone was raving about it. It is not enough pillow for me, so I double it up with my Casper pillow. So now we're talking like.. $150 worth of pillows, just on me. Anyways, I washed the stupid My Pillow, it refluffed, and now I can't turn my neck to the left. I made it to work, but just barely, thank you blind spot indicators.
k3am - if you are still in the exchange window, the right My Pillow for me is saying I am a six foot four 280 pound man (I am a five foot two 140 pound woman). Their system is whack but the pillows are awesome when you get the right one!
2chatter, we've had them for about a year. I bought it at Costco when they had a sales person there who told me basically the same thing about getting a different pillow than their system recommends. I think it's just because we don't wash them often, so they get flat and I double up, and then last night it was no longer flat but I still doubled up.
I am seriously pretty certain I'm secretly a princess as I can never seem to get just the right bedding for sleeping comfortably.
Solidarity, k3am. I am forever making DH push the mattress to be flush with the headboard, can’t stand that he uses separate bedding from me and for real cannot sleep if 1) king pillow is in a full case or 2) the fitted sheet corner has come off.
Re: Pillows. I don't have a My Pillow, but DH is griping because now I am up to sleeping with 3 large pillows. Two for my head and one for my body to hold and prop myself up. He thinks I'm ridiculous. FWP for him I suppose.
