And it may be my new favorite thing.
I'm of the "throw everything at the wall and see if it works" mindset but I'm also new to this. I imagine that after time, you just can't keep up with everything that might help. Anyways. There is pretty good research on acupuncture and IVF, and some clinics that even offer it in-house, so I decided to look into it.
My insurance covers it but the nearest provider was a haul so I decided to just find one local and pay OOP. I found a GEM in a community acupuncture center. You just find a recliner in this quiet, cozy space and the acupuncturist on duty comes to your chair and treats you there. Then you just chill in this wonderful warm space with calming music surrounded by others. You can stay as little as 20 min or as long as you'd like and it's a "pay what you can" sliding scale. The max suggested fee is less than my copay would have been!
I saw a wonderful acupuncturist today who, in addition to several advanced degrees, once worked as a l&d nurse and did child birth classes. She was incredibly encouraging and gave me lots of great knowledge on why they do what. She suggested I come 2x a week until injections, then 3x during injections, and then immediately before and after transfer.
Will it help? Who knows but that hour was awesome and I can't wait to go back on Friday.
Did NOT do it with IVF #1 - BFN Did it with IVF #2 - BFP
Whether is actually made a difference the second time, I dont know. But I found it relaxing and plan to try it with my FET this time around because I have nothing to lose.

🙋🏼♀️
I've started acupuncture as well. I'm trying to go once a week, but my schedule gets me in about every other week. I'm also in the "throw everything against the wall and hope something sticks" camp. My place doesn't take insurance, but I can use my health flex spending.
I don't know if it'll help me with the RPL, but there's solid evidence that it's helpful with infertility and hormone regulation. And it's supported by the medical community. The added fact that I get to sit in a warm room, on a comfy bed, with soothing music for an hour and get a little massage at the end? Sign me up!
I did acupuncture for several months and once I got used to it and knew what to expect, I enjoyed it. I usually scheduled at noon and was excited to go and relax for an hour (and usually take a mid day nap lol).
Ultimately it wasn’t helping me get pregnant and was $$ so I quit going (Debbie downer, sorry :-)) BUT i know several people swear by it and they had tons of baby pictures up in their office of people they had helped.
Did it with my second medicated cycle and got pregnant. Like others I enjoyed the relaxation if nothing else. I also continued to go throughout my entire pregnancy and had far less pregnancy side effects than with my first.
