C has a Delta crib stained in a dark color. It looks nice (except where he chewed on it) and seems of decent quality.
For #2 I want to get something lighter - white, gray, natural pine or maybe chestnut. Everything I've seen in person is "painted" but it looks like plastic crap. I know davinci sells samples but they are out of like, everything.
Anybody know if 1) I'll have the same plastic look in the davinci colors I like, or 2) have brand suggestions for cribs that are actually stained? It's impossible to tell online, and we have no BBB in the entire state.
I have 2 pottery barn kids cribs in a painted finish that look really nice. They also come with a clear plastic teething rail. One was DDs and looks just as new as the new one I got for the twins. Wait for a sale and they aren’t too $$.
Our crib was stained, and is now painted with nontoxic chalk paint, and has a nontoxic satin finish varnish. I love it so much. Dh painted it himself while I was pregnant.
Because it is painted though, I made a crib rail protector out of some fleece once E started teething, and I'll use that again.
Do you have a store locally? I’ve bought two PBK cribs with a 20% off coupon and picked up in store. Saves on shipping.
A couple of hours away, though I'm sure my dad would be happy to go. Sadly though the dressers are a budget buster:(
Davinci magically had a bunch of samples in again so I ordered a bunch in hope they will actually come and in a timely fashion.
The dressers are total budget busters. I had a hand me down dresser for DDs room that I painted to match the PB crib. In the twins room I bought a dresser from ikea and painted it one of the rooms accent colors and changed out the knobs. Just another option if you’re open to a little bit of work! They don’t have to match

We have a Bonavita Peyton crib in white that we are reusing for DD. We got it at BBB. There are some chew marks from DS that we are hoping to either sand and use non toxic paint or I'll make a rail cover.
Do you have a PB outlet near you at all? Most have shipping companies that they work with. I have an extra 10% coupon that I just got in my email this morning if you want it.

Haha, I dont think I can safely ask H to assemble another ikea dresser!

Do you plan on converting it to a toddler bed or full bed? Bc I don’t think most of the PBK ones are convertible, they are dedicated cribs and you have to buy the toddler bed or twin/full bed separately.

I plan on using it as a toddler bed, but not a full. Coincidentally, the one I would get is a 4 in 1.

We’ll probably go with IKEA’s beech wood Sniglar crib: m.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/art/50248541/ I don’t know if it has any stain on it, though. I do know that it’s under $100 so I can blow the rest of any budget on a nice rocker. 😀
We have a babyletto crib that's painted white and it doesn't look plastic-y to me. I just put fleece rail protectors on since DS is starting to chew on everything.

This is the same one that we have. DD1 is currently using it as a toddler bed, but we’ll convert it back to a crib for DC2. I really like the natural wood, the clean lines, and the price.

That's so good to hear! From my very brief searches, the other similar cribs that I liked were about 3 to 5 times the cost. And I didn't even realize it converts to a toddler bed.

Oops, I’m sorry, it’s the Gulliver that we have, not the Sniglar.
