What are you training for? Date? Cherry Tree Relay 2/17
Training schedule for the week? Mon: Lift, climb Tue: 6-7 miles with speedwork Wed: Lift, yoga, easy run or row Thu: Rest Fri: Climb, 6-7 miles Sat: Easy 12-14 miles Sun: Climb
Any issues/vents/complaints? Vent away! I had a blister on my heel and even though it's been dried up for over a week, the spot is still so tender and sensitive. wtf. It's really aggravated when I climb or run.
Bonus: How do you handle cold weather and workouts? Do you have a temperature you won't run/workout outside? Layer up! It was -15 with windchill yesterday and I declined to run, so I guess negative real feel?
What are you training for? Date? MOuntain bike racing may start in March. If not, April. I'm mostly "training through" these events.
Training schedule for the week? Sunday: 75 minute tempo trainer ride Monday: 22 mile gravel ride Tueseday: Trainer ride Wed.: Tempo trainer ride Thursday: Off Friday: Off Saturday/Sunday: Rides outside TBD the weather.
Any issues/vents/complaints? Vent away! I'd love a DRY weekend with low temps that don't start in the upper teens or 20s.
Any AW's or brags?
Bonus: How do you handle cold weather and workouts? Do you have a temperature you won't run/workout outside? I will road bike above freezing if the temps will get above 40. I'll gravel ride into the lower 30s & mountain bike into the uppper 20s. This all assumes a very light breeze/not much of a windchill. Below 27 I'm always on the trainer or doing something inside. I rode when it was 18 degrees one time, and it was not worth it. Being in Georgia, I don't have the right clothes for those temps.
What are you training for? Date? Pittsburgh Marathon 5/05
Training schedule for the week? M: 45 minute cycle & strength T: 10 mile run W: 10 mile run, strength Th: run/cycle F: 16 miles Sa: rest Su: 9 w/ 5@tempo
Any issues/vents/complaints? Vent away! Early am swim meet both days plus DH working all w/e is a mess of a combo for workouts and lifestyle
Any AW's or brags? No. Maybe one day I'll have something again, lol.
Bonus: How do you handle cold weather and workouts? Bundle up. I sometimes hit the treadmill for speedwork. Do you have a temperature you won't run/workout outside? Of course, but we don't hit those temps in Maryland Today was a rare single digit morning and that was doable. ETA: the above answer was for running. My cut off for cycling outside is like 60 degrees. Haha.
Training schedule for the week? M - 8 mile run T - strength W - 3-4 miles R - strength F - 4-5 miles S/S - nada
plus daily yoga
Any issues/vents/complaints? Vent away! DH is working every single weekend day this month and most of next month, so weekend workout options are limited. Should hit up the Y childcare I suppose.
Any AW's or brags? Still running! At 20 weeks I feel way better about running than last time. And on day 21 of 30 day yoga and loving it. Hope to keep up the habit.
Bonus: How do you handle cold weather and workouts? Do you have a temperature you won't run/workout outside? Lots of layers, hats, gloves, etc. It rarely gets below 20 around here, which I can handle. Less than that I might seek alternative options.

What are you training for? Date? RNR DC Half (3/9) and Pittsburgh Half (5/5) Oh! And now a local-ish 10k April 28(?)
Training schedule for the week?
Mon: 3.5 miles and weights Tue: Rest/crosstrain Wed: 5 miles Thurs: 5 miles Fri: Rest (maybe crosstrain instead) Sat: 12 miles or 4 miles Sun: 4 miles or 12 miles
Any issues/vents/complaints? Vent away! I wish my town was better at clearing snow and/or ice.
Any AW's or brags? I ran a new route outside on Saturday and it was lovely.
Bonus: How do you handle cold weather and workouts? Do you have a temperature you won't run/workout outside? I dress for it. It's not the temperature so much as it's the snow/ice conditions. My town sucks at clearing roads and sidewalks and I'm trying to run, not ice skate. I don't mind the treadmill, so if I have to do long distances on it, I will. I know that messes with my training a little, as it's better to train on the same terrain I'm going to run on. But I figure I'd rather run on the treadmill than get injured. And while my race in March could be super sucky weather, I'll take my chances and stay safe and warm until then.
What are you training for? Date? 25k trail race 5/11
Training schedule for the week? Mon - 3 mile easy run w/stroller Tue - Crossfit Wed - supposed to be a trail run, might not happen with a sick kid Thur - Crossfit Fri - rest or make up trail run? Sat - rest or hike with family Sun - stroller run
Any issues/vents/complaints? Vent away! Nope
Any AW's or brags? I'm really pleased at how my running is going. I've really only been running for a few weeks and already I can tell I'm getting a lot faster and more comfortable. I'm not officially following a training plan yet, just trying to build up base miles more or less. But I had a slow stroller run a couple of weeks ago (12 minute miles) and assumed I'd always be super slow pushing the stroller, but on Sunday I did 3 miles at 10 minute pace! I may sign up for the Cap 10k here in April, it's a huge race which is not usually my thing, but I found out they have a starting wave just for baby joggers so I might do it just because.
Bonus: How do you handle cold weather and workouts? Do you have a temperature you won't run/workout outside? I no longer live somewhere where it gets cold (it barely gets below freezing here), but my rule used to be I'd run inside below about 15 degrees Fahrenheit or if the wind chill was below 15. I hate running on treadmills. And layers are the key, because you start out super cold but always end up sweating and needing to take off layers.

What are you training for? Date? Virginia 70.3 (5/4)

Any issues/vents/complaints? Vent away! I hate that my pool doesn’t have any lap time in the afternoons until 7pm so if I don’t wake up early I can’t go unless DD will go to kid care but she’s been hating it lately.
Any AW's or brags? I got in all my workouts last week minus swims due to a head cold!
Bonus: How do you handle cold weather and workouts? Do you have a temperature you won't run/workout outside? Layer up for runs. Bike I haven’t done much below high 40’s. Run I’ll go out as long as it’s above 0*.

What are you training for? Date? Women's National Half, 5/5
Training schedule for the week? Monday - pt and 3 mile run Tuesday - yoga and half hour swim Wednesday - weights and some kind of cardio Thursday - pt, 3 mile run, yoga Friday - weights and swim Saturday - rest day, maybe a short run Sunday - yoga
Any issues/vents/complaints? Vent away! Still waiting for my hip to feel better. I wish it would warm up, because it does a lot better running outside than on the treadmill
Any AW's or brags? Mostly I'm just trying to maintain through the winter until it's time to really start half training. I can definitely feel my glutes and hamstrings working harder when I swim and run, so that's exciting.
Bonus: How do you handle cold weather and workouts? Do you have a temperature you won't run/workout outside? I am a total weenie when it comes to cold. Around freezing is my cutoff, and only if it's not raining or snowing or windy. I've been lucky (?) enough to be injured the last 2 winters and unable to run anyway

Any issues/vents/complaints? Vent away!
I have so many I don't know where to start. Too complicated to talk about here.
Any AW's or brags?
No brags, but being semi-unemployed means I have a flexible schedule, which has been helpful with fitting in training. But also a major negative in other ways.
Bonus: How do you handle cold weather and workouts? Do you have a temperature you won't run/workout outside?
I just bundle up. I've run outside when it felt like about 0 degrees. It doesn't get much colder than that here, so I'm not sure what I'd do if I lived somewhere where it got below that.
200 miles. June 8. Today is a day where I think I've lost my everlovingmind and will get swept around mile 170 for SURE.
M - strengthed T - trainer 90 min W - strength. run. Th - trainer 90?. (maybe twice? depends) F - rest Sa - swim, trainer. 2.5 hr Su - rest? maybe a short run. At least a walk.
Nothing interesting to vent or brag about.
Cold - I actually kinda like running in the cold really. I wimp out on sleet or negative windchill unless I can duck into the woods but I'm fine down to the single digits on a calm day. I don't bike in the cold. Or at least, I haven't. Will probably bite that bullet this year because OMG THE GODDAMN TRAINER.
What are you training for? Date? Not training but I have a 5k in Feb and a half in May.
Training schedule for the week? Probably nothing. Massage on Thursday.
Any issues/vents/complaints? Vent away! None!
Any AW's or brags? 50K went awesome (but awful at times, but awesome again.) it is really true what they say, when you eat and drink it gets better. Also I’m not hurt, just a little sore but nothing major.
Bonus: How do you handle cold weather and workouts? Do you have a temperature you won't run/workout outside? I just bundle up. I’ve run in sleet before at a park. I do avoid roads though.
What are you training for? Date? Rock n Roll Half Marathon 3/9, Boston Marathon 4/15
Training schedule for the week? Mon - 7 mi, Tues - 1600 ladder workout (400 recovery), Wed - 6 mi, Thur - 7 mi tempo + 1 mi wu/cd, Fri - 8 mi, Sat - 15 mi, Sun - Rest
Any issues/vents/complaints? Vent away! Brrrr...so cold, it's better today, but the past few days were rough
Any AW's or brags? I nailed my tempo run last week. It was snowy and dark, but I got it done by running in the deserted streets and doing an out 'n back at Hains Point.
Bonus: How do you handle cold weather and workouts? Do you have a temperature you won't run/workout outside? The only thing that puts me on a treadmill during the winter is if I need to do speed work and it's icy/snowy outside.
I wear layers of everything. A balaclava really helps with the wind. The other day was pretty miserable. But I put two layers of everything. The only thing that was frozen were the tips of my fingers which were throbbing. It took about 2.5 miles before they stopped hurting and then felt fine the rest of the time.
So far I haven't had a cold temperature that has kept me inside, but I suppose sub zero might. It doesn't get that cold here pretty much ever.
Catalina Trail hike 3/16 Rally Round the Valley 18 miler 4/27
Training schedule for the week?

Any issues/vents/complaints? Vent away!
Work hours this time of year are tough.
Any AW's or brags?
Not really, although getting outside to run this week feels like a huge accomplishment!
Bonus: How do you handle cold weather and workouts? Do you have a temperature you won't run/workout outside? I actually don't mind the cold, as long as I'm layered up with good gear and VERY visible to cars/plows, etc.. I find that I need to get outside, even for a short time, or I go crazy with cabin fever. For running I try to be patient and focus on effort vs. mileage (taking snowy roads into account) and I'm sure there is a temp where I will not go out there, but I haven't found it yet :-)
A day late, but I would like to join in. I don't post often (i'm kindof post shy), but have been reading you guys for a while and am inspired by all that you do. I'm trying to get back on track with health/fitness this year.
What are you training for? Date? Monday started the Orange Theory transformation challenge, a weight loss/health contest that I signed up for, must get 3 workouts there for at least 6 of the next 8 weeks. Naperville Women's 1/2 marathon on 4/28
Training schedule for the week? Monday: OT workout Tuesday: 3 miles-treadmill Wednesday: OT workout Thursday: 3 miles-treadmill Friday: OT workout Saturday or Sunday: 3 miles-treadmill
Any issues/vents/complaints? Vent away!
Any AW's or brags? Working on my whole 30 (just about 1/2 way through). Still missing my diet coke
Bonus: How do you handle cold weather and workouts? Do you have a temperature you won't run/workout outside? I'm such a wuss, I just don't go outside in the winter to run, but use the time on the treadmill to catch up on shows my husband hates to watch with me. I did bite the bullet and signed up for a Super Shuffle 5K on superbowl sunday which will be fun but freaking freezing
What are you training for? Date? Not training but I have a 5k in Feb and a half in May.

It's amazing how huge of a difference being properly fueled makes. I used to go on long bike rides so back then I understood this. But last week I was feeling terrible at a little over an hour into a trail run and it took me longer than it should have to realize that I needed to eat. A minute after eating I felt way better.
