Community School Services

Hi.

My dd’s latest placement is not working out. There are no other. Placements in the area that can meet her needs. We are on our 2nd nonpublic placement.


Has anyone ever heard of special ed or any services delivered in the community? I guess something like Home and Hospital?

I'm not sure since the Home and Hospital is more like a temporary service when a child is ill etc. and that seems like something they might do.


Therapeutic schools? Special needs non profit organizations or recreation organizations? Homeschool? Homeschooling co-ops?

Our district does offer out of school services. Sometimes schools does have enough bandwidth for say speech and families get a voucher for private alternatives. What service in particular would you need and why is it not being offered?

I am poking around for information. DD is on her 2nd nonpublic sped placement. It is not appropriate and I have to find another route.

The SPED nonpublics that would be appropriate aren't' taking kids who are as far behind as dd.

She is in a sticky situation so I am researching.
