Whale watching in San Diego

We will be in San Diego with a large family group in late March and thought whale watching might be fun.  Any one have suggestions on companies to use or stay away from?  

I would welcome any other family-friendly activities as well.  We plan to do the zoo and at least one beach day.

Have a back up plan for the beach day. Even if the air temp is nice, the water is going to be freezing!

If you will be here the weekend of March 23 & 24, the House of Iran will be doing their Persian New Years festival on sunday the 24th. Lots of good food and entertainment. The International cottages at Balboa park do a different country each sunday and they feature live music/entertainment, food, etc. www.sdhpr.org/lp.html
