My new blow dryer and ions.

What are ions? I thought they were a good thing and make your hair shiny. My new blow dryer has an on/off switch for ions. If they are a good thing, why would i turn them off?

Ions are charged particles. Basically atoms that have lost or gained an electron to give them a positive or negative charge. It makes them prone to bonding to other atoms. Not sure what exactly this means for your hair.

I went with a mid-line one Trudy. First time I used it was tonight. Doesn't seem special. My hair is dry haha. And Ernie, I don't notice any difference in my hair so I'm not sure what the ions do either.

I've never understood the whole ions for hair thing. If you want some ions put salt into water. BAM, ions.
