Any issues/vents/complaints? Vent away! Cold rain is the worst. I'm ready for winter to be done. NRR I'm coaching my son and his classmates in an afterschool enrichment activity. We have to figure out how to build a robot. I'm totally lost. Only 5 more weeks left. I'm freaking out. I will have the biggest drink whenever this thing is done.
Oh we ordered a ton of girl scout cookies and I can't stop eating them.
Any AW's or brags? I nailed my tempo run last week 8 miles at 8mm with two nasty hills mixed in.

Any AW's or brags? I have only been doing OT since December but I am going faster on the treadmill and have upped my weights. I feel like I am getting in better shape.

Any issues/vents/complaints? Vent away! Ugh, I have a nasty cold. I knew I'd come down with something because I've been stressing about this new job, and my insomnia has recurred. Once I hit that magic combination of no sleep and stress, it's just a countdown to sickville. Fingers crossed it doesn't morph into something worse.
Any AW's or brags? Oooh, I've been working on handstand every day this month, even if for a few minutes a day, and I can tell a difference. Very excited.

What are you training for? Date?
Rock N Roll DC Half (3/9) Local 10k (4/28) Pittsburgh Half (5/5)
Training schedule for the week?
Monday: 3.5 miles run, strength training Tuesday: 5 miles Wed-Sun: no idea yet (see below)
Any issues/vents/complaints? Vent away! I don't know if this is really belongs here, but I officially signed up with a coach yesterday. Eek! Which is why I don't know what's going on the rest of this week. He's supposed to have a training plan in place for my next few weeks by tomorrow. I did this specifically for Chicago in October; I want to make a smart, achievable goal under the big umbrella of "get faster". And I know I need help. I'm terrified that this is going to suck. Or make me hate running. or at least, hate training. So hopefully he's as open to communication as he told me he was, so that when it does suck, he can help me through that.
Any AW's or brags? Maybe this is the year I get faster?

Training schedule for the week? M-11 miles T- lift W- 4 miles T- 10 tempo F- rest or 5miles S- 17 miles S- rest or 5 miles
Any issues/vents/complaints? Vent away! I fell off the strength training wagon awhile back and it's catching up to me big time. I'm trying to get back on and maintain my training. I've given up on my A race time and now am trying to figure out my new realistic goal. Training in winter sucks, I had a particularly dark day on Sunday. I feel so stupid about the strength training stuff, I know better. On top of that work has been crazy. So yeah I'm looking forward to the new week.
Any AW's or brags? Not H&F related but we booked a vacation with friends in North Carolina later this year & I'm stoked.
Hey! I’ll be over here with the short distance delegation 😁

Training schedule for the week? M— swim T— HIIT W— swim or run Th— weights F— yoga Sa— run Su— cycle (hopefully)
Any issues/vents/complaints? Vent away! My bike is in the shop. Hopefully it’s nothing too complicated or expensive. Plus I’m dealing with a right knee thing that only happens on the bike so I’m probably going to need have the fit adjusted.
Any AW's or brags?
I’ve taken almost two minutes off of my 750m swim since December. I’m not sure what happened, since I’ve basically been swimming the same ballpark pace for over a year. Here’s hoping the same magic happens with my run times!
What are you training for? Date? Cap 10k 4/7 Trail 25k 5/11
Training schedule for the week? Making it up as a I go along... M - 3 miles easy T - off W - Crossfit! (first time in like 2 weeks) Th - 6ish mile trail run F - Crossfit Sat - Easy 3 with some Crossfit skills in the middle (the gym is 1.5 miles away) Sun - 4-6 miles if I feel good
Any issues/vents/complaints? Vent away! I'm totally winging it. I've had 3 weeks of barely working out due to sickness, more sickness, travel, and more sickness. The first two bouts of sickness were DS1 and then DS2, and each time I felt kind of cruddy like I was fighting it off. Now I've had a sore throat since the weekend and have felt vaguely tired and awful. I felt mostly okay today (except my throat is bad again tonight), but a friend at the gym said she had the flu last week and that apparently the Flu B strain here can present as more or less an upper respiratory thing, mostly just sore throat and clogged sinuses. She didn't even have a fever. So now I'm wondering if that's what I've had, a mild bout of the flu? No idea. Hoping I didn't get anyone else sick by going to the gym. I really doubt it's the flu, but now I'm wondering. We all got our flu shots, so here's hoping that if we all get it, it's mild. I know it's still going around at daycare, there was a sign on DS1's door about it having shown up in his class. He said he was cold tonight, really hoping he's not coming down with it.

Any AW's or brags? Maybe next week I’ll get a full week of training in? At least temps look good back home.

Any issues/vents/complaints? Vent away! The weather has been weird, rainy and cold. I know that I can play catchup over summer break when my schedule is more flexible, but my over achieving brain wants to have 25% of the half marathons done by 3/7

We haven’t had a fever free week this entire year, and my H stays home with them when they’re sick so when I get home he has to work. When is winter over?
Any AW's or brags? We had a love rally today at school and the teachers and student council kids all picked something we love from a list and that’s how we were introduced. I picked working out and I was happy to see most of my older kids from running club were there, too : )

Sorry your kids are sick again. DS2 got sent home today with a fever and I'm so so done with the winter of being sick.
