I'm heading to Mexico for a long weekend in a month (and boy do I need it....7th snow day in 2019 ) and am planning to try and chill as much as I can while we're there. I'm currently re-reading all the Brene Brown books but will have those done before we go. Prior to that, it was a memoir about a prostitute working at the Bunny Ranch and serial killer stuff. Oh, and The Fault in Our Stars and Gone Girl. What have you guys read lately that was good?

I just read Where the Crawdads Sing (Delia Owens) for book club and really liked it. If you like historical fiction, I really liked All the Light We Cannot See (Anthony Doerr) and The Women in the Castle (Jessica Shattuck), which are both about WW2.
I'm currently back on a crime/thriller kick. I just finished Pieces of her by Karin Slaughter, and am currently reading her Will Trent series. I read fast so I liked series. Burning Man by Alan Russell is good. It's a cop/dog thriller.
All the Light we Cannot See was really good. The Nigtingale by Kristin Hanna is also historical fiction and good. As well as the Paris Architect by Charles Belfoure.
If you like Science Fiction, I've enjoyed the Dresden Files. It's about a Wizard PI in Chicago. The first one was the author's first book and the series gets better written as it goes on. The main character is nerdy funny. The audio books are really good.
I just started "Becoming" by Michelle Obama and it's great so far.
I've enjoyed pretty much every Jennifer Weiner and Jennifer Crusie book I've read, also.
Next on my list is "The Gift of Fear" by Gavin de Becker, but that might feel too much like work. I also have "The Psychopath Next Door" still to finish.

The Gift of Fear was somewhat of a required read when I started at the prison. It's good but man does it make you question everyone and their intentions lol!

I really like An American Marriage by Tayari Jones. I just started Silver Sparrow by her and am loving it too. I liked Killman Creek and Stillhouse Lake, which was a book club read, but I know reaction on that one was mixed.
