Can anyone recommend a decent drug store moisturizer for really dry winter skin? I have used higher end ones for four years now and honestly don't notice much if any difference in my skin, at least not for the price difference. I'm about out of my Belif, which is not cutting it this winter. Around my nose and in between my brows is so so dry, I just layer upon layer it. I'm really just looking to get rid of the dryness discomfort and itch at this point, and I just cannot afford something expensive right now. Before I switched to brands carried at sephora, I used Olay, which also never cut it in the winter for me.
I wash with CeraVe and use with Ole Henricksen serum or Fresh Rose Facemask. I still have a good bit of both of those left to last me a while.
When I need good moisturize I tend to use cetaphil in the big tub. I noticed recently that the tubs say they are for the body, but they didn't use to say such and my mom and I have been using it off and for more than 20 years.
I use the CeraVe Moisturizing Cream in the big tub. I use it at night mixed with some marula oil. It feels heavy at first but it melts into the skin after a minute or so. If your skin is dry it would probably work great during the day too.
Are you using a cleanser in the mornings? Maybe try going without cleansing and see if that helps keep more moisture in.
Try the Garnier SkinActive moisturizer in Soothing (the rose water one). If that isn’t getting the job done either, put a couple of drops of face oil in with it. I use rose hip but my skin loves to break out so I use the drier oils.

I just layer, like, 6 moisturizers, because I happen to have a lot of moisturizers on hand right now. Cerave lotion first, b/c it has hyaluronic acid. Then whatever combination of the following I'm feeling like: Shea moisture bamboo + charcoal gel moisturizer, Laneige sleeping mask, Pond's Rejuveness, Rimmel Camellia Oil, some Lancome moisturizer that my MIL gave me that I would definitely never pay that much $ for.
Not drugstore, but my favorite moisturizer without sunscreen for my dry skin is the Clinique Super Rescue Antioxidant Night Moisturizer for very dry to dry skin (there are three kinds).
If my skin is REALLY dry, I'll add something on top like Nivea cream, Vaseline, or CeraVe healing ointment.
