I’m trying to pay attention to things like sleep quality and how tired I am in the mornings, and I’ve noticed a weird thing: if I don’t exercise enough or if I exercise too much, I’m more tired. Exercising lots and being more tired makes sense (my body needs the rest and repair time), but I was surprised to discover that 30-60 minutes of real exercise is better than light/no exercise for giving me energy the next day.
anyone else? What’s your “sweet spot” for sleep and energy?

Oh yeah, around 60-90 minutes is my sweet spot too. If I do more than that regularly I'm exhausted in the evenings (like, I fall asleep on the couch) but wake up super early in the mornings. Which doesn't sound terrible, but not getting any evening isn't ideal, and it doesn't really fit in with my night owl DH and DS. I usually do about an hour, maybe a little more.
Also, if I exercise in the evenings it takes me forever to fall asleep, so I try to stick to mornings

I haven't noticed much of a correlation between workout levels and sleep but sleep-wise, 7 hours seems to be my sweet spot. I feel dead during the day if I get more. It's weird.
I do take Vitamin D during the winter and I notice a difference when taking it.

That feeling terrible if you get more sleep thing? It only happens the first day or two that you get enough sleep. After that you just feel good I know because it's happened to me a lot. I do best on 8 hours of sleep, and I'll take more if I can get it (more is usually 9 hours max).
My energy levels feel great if I take about 2 days off, but after that I feel terrible unless I exercise.
