Coming from someone who just got her own office and has no idea what to do with the walls. I don't have any windows and it is a fairly large space. I have an extra chair in here for people to sit in, a bookshelf and that about it. I have a white board some hanging folders, cork board and a board to hang pictures when I can print them out. I nee some ideas to make it more cheery. It is very brown right now.

My office currently has a washer and dryer on one wall and a coat rack next to my folding table that I use as a desk. You probably dont want that lol.
When I finally redecorated my office that was my dads, I hung pictures up from vacations. Not family pics, but landmarks and scenery. Arch in St. Louis, a mountain and glaciers from Alaska, etc.

My “office” is our dining room. The dining room table is in the family room. But since we recently redid our floors and painted, I’ve gotten new curtains and a beachy painting to match my beachy calendar. I have an empty half wall that I’m not sure what to do with. I might do some shelves. I’d also love a new desk because mine is looking bad but it’s still functional so I’ll be waiting on that.
I’m also considering framing my kids more colorful artwork to cheer the place up. How about a large clock?
I did, but most of it was taken down when my co-worker retired. We had about 3 pieces of art up, 2 were her own that she took down. And 1 was mine, and the frame was dying, and I haven't thought to replace it. Otherwise I just have a couple of pictures of kids and artwork.

I have a cubicle, but I have pictures of my family, artwork from my kids, and a few plants. If I had an actual office, I would have the aforementioned items, and then probably add a large framed photograph or two by a father-son professional photographer team who do beach/landscape/nature photos, mostly in the area that my parents grew up in (small beach town in MI along Lake Michigan).
Hilariously, my company has an art docent. When you start or get an office or move offices, she comes and does an art interview. I asked for old sepia photos of people who worked for our company. I have three of them in my current office.
I also have pictures of my kids on my desk and bookshelves as well as awards I’ve gotten through the years (including two medals for exceptional civilian service from Dept of the Army that always get a lot of attention).
My first office I had family photos out in the open and some industry awards out but tucked away in a corner. 2 chairs for others to sit. Reference books. Tchotchke giveaway stuff because I worked in marketing. A whiteboard took up one wall. Lots of people hung diplomas and industry certifications and licenses.
Second office was 2 walls of external windows and one wall had the door and a wall was glass looking out into the sea if cubicles. 4th wall was my credenza that went with the desk. Not having a white board sucked, but I used the windows as whiteboards.
I have a piece of art that came from my first job, and a framed certificate for one of my professional designations on the wall. Plus some plants (work provides them) and a white board.
My office is pretty small and has one wall of windows, so that and a few family pics is all I need. I have a windowsill with a few work-related memorabilia items on it (a pic with coworkers from an event, a mug with the emblem of one of my clients and a license plate with my name on it from a state that hired my team to advise their pension fund - little stuff like that).
I have one picture that I love that was in my second office in this building. I've moved 3 times since, and I keep taking the picture with me. I have a bookshelf covered with all of the manuals from the hundreds of trainings. Another bookshelf has all of the supplies for classes. Paper. Scissors, markers, etc. I have a few plaques on top of my overhead cabinet. Picture of the family on my screensavers.
My office is a mess. If we renew our lease I want to paint the walls. I have lots of shelving but everything is placed just right incase the apartments above us decide to flood us with water. I sometimes have DD's art work but now that she is a big kid we don't get art as much.
My office is functional besides my desk it has a round table and chairs to sit around, 2 cabinet a bookshelf and one framed photo on the wall of headquarters came with office and a framed cert on the wall my desk has our annual family photo

My undergrad degree is framed and sitting on the floor leaning against a wall.
I have a funny (but funny in the way that only real estate lawyers get) framed vintage cartoon on one wall and a landscape that belongs to my boss on another.
I also have a cork board that has pictures of my kids and that my kids have done.
Also I have a giant calendar behind my desk that I use to track transaction deadlines (because people always call me and ask me dates so I can just turn around instead of looking it up) and on the wall in front of my desk I have a ton of charts and lists of things that I need to always reference.
My office is very...not very polished. But it's highly functional so, there's that?
Well these responses are making me feel better. Everyone has been telling me to decorate my office, but I think I'll be good with what I have. I got a couple of pictures to hang and I will print out some pictures of family and vacations to hang as well

I remember when I worked at a firm one of the younger lawyers had a velvet Elvis picture. Not hung up but leaned up on a table or something like that. His wife made him take it to the office after they got married, lol.
