What are you training for? Date?
I’m bailing on my 50k due to an injury that started about 10 days ago. I’m going to focus on getting better. My PT thinks I should shift my training to my April races: Cherry Blossom 10 mile and a local 10k.
Training schedule for the week?
M: spin class and strength T: Track workout and yoga W: Cross training TBD, maybe spin and strength Th: Hill/tempo run F: easy run Sat: Long run 10-12 miles Sun: rest or active recovery
Any issues/vents/complaints? Vent away!
I have a bad case of plantar fasciitis. I got some advice from my PT. I decided not to run my 50k because I think it would be torture and would prolong the injury.
Any AW's or brags?
Nope
Bonus Question - What's your favorite running book, podcast or movie? Or answer all 3

Any AW's or brags? We're going skiing on Sunday. We'll stay Saturday overnight and it will be the first time for the kids. I'm not worried about DS, but DD might have a little trouble. I'm looking forward to a little winter getaway,
Bonus Question - What's your favorite running book, podcast or movie? Or answer all 3 Unbroken is really good. But it covers a lot more than running.

My error! I edited to be more inclusive to include all H&F books.

Any issues/vents/complaints? Vent away! I'm a broken record with the weather, sorry. There's a layer of ice on the roads from the storm over the weekend, it's freezing and we're suppose to get another 6 inches this evening. I just want to run outside, tear.
Any AW's or brags? Nope
Bonus Question - What's your favorite H&F book, podcast or movie? Or answer all 3 I just finished What I Talk about what I Talk about Running and a lot of it really resonated with me.

Any issues/vents/complaints? Vent away! - My coach wanted me to get a pro bike fit up in Indy. I have emailed the guy about 4 times with zero response. I need to get re-fit to my bike, one, because I know my stem is still too long, and two, because it's starting to hurt my knee. I asked my coach if he has a 2nd choice person, because this is ridiculous.
Any AW's or brags? - Nope
Bonus Question - What's your favorite H&F book, podcast or movie? Or answer all 3 Book: "The Brave Athlete: Calm the F*ck Down" Movie: One of the Nine for IX that ESPN did a few years ago - "Venus Vs." Podcast: Burn it all Down

Any AW's or brags? We had the mid point weigh in for the OT challenge and I was down 5.5 lbs! I also can tell I am losing inches as my clothes are getting better. Some people are hard core in this challenge though, one person is down 20 in the four weeks!

Any issues/vents/complaints? Vent away!
I'm tired. I am really enjoying having a coach, because it's keeping me accountable. However, now I can't use the excuse "OMG it's so cold out, I'll just crosstrain after work" so I'm actually getting out of bed at 4:50am 3 days a week now.
Any AW's or brags?
I had some really good runs this weekend. And, I'm consistently adding in core/strength these days.
Bonus Question - What's your favorite H&F book, podcast or movie? Or answer all 3
I don't know if it's my favorite, but I really enjoyed A Beautiful Work In Progress.

What are you training for? Date? National women's half 5/5
Training schedule for the week? Monday - weights and swim Tuesday - yoga and 3 mile run Wednesday - weights and swim Thursday - 3 mile run, spin class, yoga Friday - weights and swim Saturday - 4 mile run
Any issues/vents/complaints? Vent away! I'm feeling super unmotivated, I think from lack of being able to take my half training as seriously as I want because of my hip. I can't train hard physically, so I'm not there mentally either.
Any AW's or brags? I'm trying to increase how much I'm swimming since I have to cut back on running, we'll see how that goes.
Bonus Question - What's your favorite H&F book, podcast or movie? Or answer all 3 Hmm. I don't really partake in a lot of that kind of stuff. I'm watching Bringing Sexy Back on Netflix, which is an Australian weight loss and makeover show. Does that count? 🤣
M- didn't feel like doing weights so I did a 30 min vo2 intervals on the trainer and a few squats for good measure. T- 1 hr trainer threshold I think? W- weights and another short interval workout Th- 2 hours on the trainer. F- rest Sat- swim, long ride Sun- run maybe? Since I can't during the week?
Vent- I feel like im making no progress. That can't be right though...Im blaming all this damn riding indoors Aw- eh?
I don't read or watch a ton of h&f stuff and dont do podcasts. That calm the fuck down book was good.

What are you training for? Date? Pittsburgh Half, 5/5 *I was originally going to do the Full, got a lot of great advice on here about how to make the training schedule work, and then my knees just didn’t like increasing the mileage as much as I was. I backed off and started Half training about a month ago and it’s a lot easier all around. So my new goal is to beat my time from the last time I ran the Half in 2013.
Training schedule for the week? 3.5 today, 2 tomorrow, 3.5 Thursday, 5 on Sunday. OTF thrown in on Friday.
Any issues/vents/complaints? Vent away! Nope! Well, maybe the weather could be a little more warm and less wind and snow.
Mo- Yoga/core Tu- 3 mile run Wed- spin class/upper body Thurs- 5 mile run/core Fri- 1 hour stairmill with 25lb pack Sat- 10 mile run
Any issues/vents/complaints? Vent away!
Work is kicking my butt. I haven't been getting in my running mileage so I can only pray this backpacking and crosstraining I'm doing will pay off when I get to the starting lines.
Any AW's or brags? I haven't completely bailed on workouts when I normally would have because of work/life balance. I'm the new champ of the 7min app while dinner is cooking or the 10min yoga video while I wait for a report to run.
M: 4 miles, 30 min cycle T: 11 miles, strength W: 4 miles Th: long run (15-16ish? I missed the last 2 & I don’t want to overdo it) F: rest Sa: 5 miles Su: 10 miles
I had a foot issue last week that appears to stem from a tight calf (the same one that tore last year, yikes). If all goes well I’ll switch from week 9 of the Pfitz 18 week plan to week 9 of the Pfitz 12 week plan. That gives me a drop back in mileage for a couple weeks.
H&F movies: I grew up on Rocky & Karate Kid! More recently I enjoyed the Barkley Marathon & Breaking2 (kipchoge is so amazing) Books: I can’t remember! I like biographies like Christie Ellington’s, A Life Without Limits.
Oh no! I am so, so sorry Wines Not Whines. I know how hard you trained for that, and last year’s cancellation was due to weather wasn’t it? How are you doing with this decision?

Not well. I was depressed about it this morning, and then I convinced myself that I should start the race and bail if I need to. I emailed my PT and he didn’t seem too concerned about the possibility of me doing that. So who knows. Stay tuned. Lol.
What are you training for? Date? Maybe a 50k end of March but I haven’t decided yet. Training like I am but not sure.
Training schedule for the week? Monday: rest Tues: NROLFW Wed: treadmill intervals Thurs: 4-6 Friday: not sure Sat: a lot of miles Sun: NROLFW
Any issues/vents/complaints? Vent away! SSRIs have caused significant weight gain, like 24 lbs. I tapered off for 7 weeks. Switched kinds, had bloodwork done. Nothing worked. Im done. They took the edge off for sure but For me it hasn’t been worth the side effects.
Any AW's or brags? I got sick of not being able to wear any of my work pants and I took the plunge and signed up for a nutrition plan through a different gym nearby. I had a body scan thing done and will revisit once a month for 3 months. I know my calories and macros, have meal plans and grocery lists and most importantly I know MFP will be monitored. I’m already down a couple of lbs in 2 days.
Bonus Question - What's your favorite H&F book, podcast or movie? Or answer all 3 The Brave Athlete: Calm the F down. I learned about that here.
