I skipped a few pages (missed the middle, sorry) but this is ridiculous and juvenile and just plain not worthy of the office of...anybody. I'm sure it's been posted but just in case it's somewhere on pages 7-11
I still see you Republican voters (I know you're still lurking) who went toe to toe with us on these boards for years because you said these people had a better vision for the country. Now that you've done your taxes, was your new tax rate worth everything your people said and did today? Honest to God.
This needs it’s own thread. I always wonder about our dearly departed friends on the right.
(For the newbies, this board used to have lively debates that featured opinions from the left AND right)
Meadows talking over the Chairman and Talib is some entitled white male horseshit. Oh wait doesn’t see color.
M: Did you hear what she said, Cummings? She said citing someone's black friend isn't proof against racism and is in fact racist. Did you hear that, Cummings? You know me Cummings!
C: Yes, yes. I am your black friend. I can see that she hurt your feelings.
M: Thank god. I was afraid they'd think I didn't have a black friend. But now they know. I can't possibly be a racist (thanks to you, my black friend). Her statement doesn't need to be stricken from the record.

can you all just tag people so i can refresh my memory? lol
excellent recap everyone. It's like I was sitting in the room! Good work!
Do we know if Fox aired all of this today or were they playing cartoons for 8 hours?
I hope Anderson, Chris and Rachel give me a good wrap up. Sounds like today was amazing!
I really thought he wouldn't want to run in 2020 because he hates his life so much but then he'll fucking run because it's the only way he can't be indicted and can
pardon everyone along the way. mother fucker. I hope they have state crimes on those fucking kids.
Someone earlier in the thread asked about fox, so I switched over and watched much of the testimony there. They seemed to show it live without any alterations, although their banner was different at the bottom, and their commentary during the breaks and after was obviously quite different.

Michael Cohen is the ghost of Jacob Marley. It's already too late for him, and he has nothing to personally gain from trying to redeem Ebeneezer Scrooge. We can only hope this has a Dickensian ending.
I surprised myself with how much I believed Cohen, even had sympathy for him. I don't think he could have handled his testimony better.
They talked about this in NPR.
It’s really hard to discredit someone who is owning his dishonesty. The GOP kept trying to shift the blame and he was like “Yep, I’m a liar. But let’s talk about Trump.”
I wouldn't say I like Cohen but I definitely liked watching him. At times he was pompous, arrogant, and what I assume is a stereotypical NYC lawyer. But that persona crushed the R's with their dumb questions and misdirections. When the committee rambled be just spoke over them louder and louder until they quit, especially with Jim Jordan. I'll admit I'm a hypocrite because I would be the first to be annoyed if he did it to a Dem or mansplained that to a female rep.

Yeah, I don’t find him particularly sympathetic. He’s not a great guy. He’s not a hero. But his story about the payments makes 100 percent sense, and he has LITERAL RECEIPTS. The fact that none of the GOP folks care about that is just mind-boggling.
Also, he was convicted about lying to Congress. But he lied about Trump’s involvement in this stuff. The GOP wants to a) accept his original testimony as true, and b) discredit anything else he has to say because he lied. IT DOES NOT WORK THAT WAY! If you are convinced he lied the first time, then doesn’t that mean the stuff he was denying in that testimony was actually true? I feel like I’m taking crazy pills!
Sebastian Gorka (vom) was on the 1A this morning along with some other chucklefucks from CPAC and they said that Cohen is now a liberal hero. I cannot with these people.

I did too. I wanted to hate him, but I just can't make myself go that far. He lied. He admitted it and gave a perfectly reasonable explanation as to why he lied. I don't think he's a good person, and I don't want him coming to my house for dinner, but he came with receipts and I believed him.

I think the fact that he’s an attorney (albeit a shitty one), and spent at least 10 years being a dick to other people served him well here. He’s used to pushing back and steamrolling people, and making sure his words are clearly heard.
Those R reps are used to interrogating people who are sort of scared of them/afraid of being in the inquiry. Cohen didn’t have anything left to lose, and a few R reps, who were yelling that he lied, don’t carry nearly the intimidation factor that 1) they’re used to carrying, or 2) would actually scare him at this point. Dude’s going to JAIL. The rantings of Jordan and Meadows are nothing compared to what he’s facing.
