1) I bought groceries for myself for the week, but I don't want to eat anything I have. I'd rather run get a muffin from the grocery store up the street. But it's cold, and I'd have to get dressed. So I'm sitting here not eating at all. *first world problems*
2) How much 1x1 time do you usually get with your boss? My boss and I have a weekly 1x1 meeting where we talk about...basically anything. He likes to ask really deep questions about how I like my job, what kind of pressure I feel I'm under, how I want my career to progress... I really appreciate having an open dialogue with my boss, but it's almost too much. I'm already anxious about today's meeting. I feel like I never have enough to say.

SwimDeep, I just changed bosses and currently I have no 1:1s planned with new boss lol. However, she just took the job a few weeks ago so maybe that will change? Old boss had 1:1s planned for every two weeks but she was super busy and if I didn't have anything to ask/say, we cut it short. I usually brought up what I needed to, then closed with "that is all I have. Do you have anything for me?" Don't feel pressured to fill the entire meeting up.
1. I'm getting my ass back into gear with diet/exercise. Probably too late to feel awesome about my body on vacation next week, but I feel better, nonetheless. I did a yoga sculpt class last night and feel fearless today because of it. I mean, everything hurts, but that's the good stuff, right?
2. My mood has been improved lately and I'm feeling like I have a better handle on everything lately. Let's hope this sticks around for a bit.
To answer your question, I don't really have much 1:1 time with my boss. My boss isn't supposed to be my boss (he's the bosses' boss) but they cut my boss' position last year and are rehiring this year (long story). He is incredibly busy with all of the stuff he's involved in so he lets us do our thing. I love that he trusts us to just manage (there's only 3 of us and we're a well oiled machine). I do mostly pop-ins when something comes up and he's usually available to help me process stuff on a whim. We do have meetings scheduled every other Friday for clinical supervision, but it's him and me and my coworkers.
1) I called out sick yesterday and said it was GI stuff, so today I don't have much food packed in my lunch. Just probiotic juice, 2 different kinds of applesauce, diced pears, saltines, and yogurt.
2) I keep thinking of things I could have done or said better in the interview yesterday and know I need to knock it off. I can't go back and change anything I said or wrote. I need to get my two thank you notes written and mailed out today.
SwimDeep I also don't have much 1:1 time with my boss. I think she meets with some of my coworkers more often than me, but it doesn't much matter to me. You definitely don't need to fill the time with your boss. When I was a manager and had 1:1s I would ask similar questions to figure out how I could hello and areas to push my employees for their own professional development, if there was a way within my department.

1) I am turning 40 in a little over a month and I think I'm having a mini mid-life crisis. I've been contemplating botox for my forehead (as I have two scowl lines) and I've been looking at leasing a Mercedes Benz convertible. #basicforlyfe lol
2) I've been going to yoga regularly again and it's so good for my soul. It isn't however, good for my face as I break out a ton on my chin from sweating so much. For my skincare gals, how do you avoid pimples? I always wash my face right after. I use oil free products. I do a mud mask once a week. Halp!
1. According to my extensive knowledge gained thru webmd, I might have a blood clot in my calf and there for might die. Of course I am self diagnosing myself and need to go to a dr to find out wtf is wrong with my calf but for today I guess I better start working on my will. (I am not trying to make fun of serious issues, I just am poking fun at my own internet doctoring skills)
2. I have a friend who is driving me nuts. She is one of those people who is book smart but sometimes the most basic things go right over her head. We are still in the process of booking our flights for vacation and she is dragging her damn feet because she cannot grasp the concept that a piece of carryon luggage is not considered a 2nd bag. Girl - a 2nd bag fee would mean a 2nd bag going UNDER THE DAMN PLANE IN THE CARGO HOLD. She has only ever flown airlines like Spirit, where they charge you for everything. Girl, we are flying international on a major airline, not these nickle and dime carriers.

spindle92, not to sound like your mother but you really should get that checked out. Blood clots can travel to your lung and be fatal. Usually I poke fun at WebMD but coming from a medical background, those aren't something to mess around with.

Oh I know, I actually already have an appointment tomorrow so I am going to talk to the dr about this leg pain thing.
I just am making fun of myself for not only playing internet dr but also going to the worst case possible of it being a blood clot when I am 99.9% certain it is just some weird muscle strain.
What is your diet like bullygirl979? I usually break out from too much sugar/dairy, stress or touching things like my phone or uncleaned Metal (jewelry) to my face, not really from sweating.
I use a retinol serum and a benoyl peroxide at 10% on acne spots, but moisturizer is key - especially at night. I use a rose hip oil on my face and a Burt’s bees night cream before bed. I also use a BHA exfoliant from Paula’s choice that I love.
Work is crazy, we’ve had two people give their notice and there’s only 6 of us. We’ll be limping along for a few months until we can get some new people in.
I am thinking of doing a chop to my hair next month amdnhaving her gradually lighten to blonde again for the warmer months. I have been growing my hair for over 2 years so a chop to my shoulders nakedness me nervous, but I am ready for a change!

doglove, pretty clean. I eat dairy but if I'm not working out my face is fine. The minute I start working out again, I break out on my chin a ton. I've read that when you work out your pores open more...I don't know if my pores are getting TOO open in a 93 degree studio and they are just getting clogged too easily?
I use face wash for dry skin and I use moisturizer every night. Maybe I need to gently exfoliate more and look in to the zit cream you use.
1. I was asked to be on a preplanning committee thing and this morning we met for the first time. The girl who invited me said she invited me because of my "expertise". It always throws me off when people think I know stuff. I mean I know stuff, but I can't ever say I'm an expert in anything without laughing.
2. I avoid my friends at work. One, in particular, cannot tell a short story and 45 minutes will go by and she doesn't take the cues of me emailing/doing notes while she talks. I love her but it's better to chat out of the office!
1. The dry skin from winter is insane. My hands are probably the roughest they've been as an adult. My thighs are chapped. Feet aren't much better. I can't wait for the winter to be over.
2. Right now life is a combination of being so thankful of where i am professionally, and my relationship... and having serious anxiety about my job and my stubbornness with eating better. It's hard going between those two dichotomies.
bullygirl979, I use a teatree facial wash from trader joes that keeps my skin really clean. I find now that when I don't go to yoga and sweat my face breaks out.
I don't get a lot of 1:1 time with my boss. She checks in but I'm pretty autonomous in my work duties.
1. I need to get back to eating better, this is after I had a soy gyro for lunch so I could get a free soccer flag for my team. Because I have a mild obsession with hanging new flags out side my house.
2. I'm excited now to go to Yoga tomorrow and signed up for class after reading the posts above.
2) I ordered a dress for a gala on Saturday and it might not arrive in time. I have a backup plan, but I am still hoping that it arrives before the event.
3) I admitted to having a thing for trivia guy last weekend. It might be mutual, but there's a rumor he's still in love with his ex.
