1. I have some Plantronics Backbeat Fit bluetooth headphones. I've had them for over 3 years now and they still work great.
2. If I'm on cardio equipment, I just use my phone. If I'm doing anything else, I hate carrying around my phone, even if it is strapped to my person. After my last ipod shuffle died (RIP) I got a Sandisk Clip Sport. It is small, clips on my clothes, and has bluetooth.
I just bought Jabra active elite 65t. I wanted truly wireless because the wire always gets tangled in my hair. So far I like them a lot. The sound is good. They have audio pass through, so if you are running on the road you can hear cars coming, but you can turn that off in the gym. They stay in my ears with no problems, even while running. Phone calls seem to be good and my mom complained less about hearing cars and wind when I called her while walking the dogs. I did notice that when I tilt my head up to look at the stars, the connection gets static-y. That's my only complaint, but I've only had them for two weeks. I have a Samsung S7, soon to be upgraded, because it's all cracked to hell. When I run, I have a armband phone holder. At the gym, I just carry it where I'm going.

Current status: working out with music 😂 -I wear wireless over the ear earbuds. Just regular earbuds fall out for me. I’ve always just had like $20 pairs from amazon so I’m not upset when I inevitably lose them. -I just use the music app on my iPhone? I have a workout playlist. If I’m running I use mapmyrun and have it set to auto play this playlist. -no special holder for my phone-I just set it on the gym floor or equipment next to me. If I’m running I do wear an armband. Again nothing fancy-$10 Amazon.
I tried a bunch of different types of earbuds but they all fell out. I wound up splurging on Aftershokz Trekz Air bone conduction headphones, and I love them. No bounce, and I can hear what's happening around me.
At the gym, it's either in my pocket or I carry it. When I run outdoors, I tuck it into a running belt.
I use an old iPod Shuffle with Bose headphones, wired, because old tech. I don't know what I'll do when it dies, since they don't make them anymore. (Probably get a fitness watch that I can store music on, and wireless headphones.)
I hate carrying my phone when I workout, it's too big. I also don't have unlimited data, so streaming is no go unless I'm at home on the treadmill with wifi.
I’m fairly old school. I use an iPod shuffle and use Bose wired in-ear headphones with it. I clip the Shuffle to my waistband. The Shuffle holds about 250 songs, and I replace them every month or so using iTunes software.
I’m reluctant to use my iPhone in the gym because 1) want to remain distraction free, and 2) gym germs. The Shuffle is discontinued so I’m going to be sad when this current one eventually breaks!
AirPods with Apple Music on my phone. I set my phone on whatever machine or usually my workout o pants have side thigh pockets that my phone can slip into.

My phone has a headphone jack, so I use wired sport over the ear earbuds. I have to get the ones that come with different sized buds, and always have to use the smallest ones or else they don't fit in my ears. My phone also is always running out of space, so I don't download things to watch/listen to. If I'm outside or on a track or doing weights, I stream music with the iheartradio app. If I'm on a machine, I usually plug my earphones into the machine and listen to the audio that goes with the tv on the machine. I do still buy cheap armband phone carriers (like from 5 below or TJ Maxx) to use occasionally, but most of pants now have phone pockets so usually I just stick it in there.
I use $20 bluetooth over the ear headphones from amazon for running. Over the ear headphones are the only ones that stay on for me while running. I have a headphone jack too, so I will sometimes use wired over the ear headphones when my bluetooth ones aren't charged.
I connect to my phone, which I either keep in my pocket (a lot of my running pants now have a phone pocket on the thigh!) or in a spi running belt.
I listen to audiobooks borrowed from my library while I run through the overdrive app. I only really do music while I'm racing or if I'm speed training in which case I have some spotify or amazon music playlists that I'll stream.
I stream from my iPhone, directly into my hearing aids! I do this with audio books and podcasts in lobbies, too. I feel like I've got a secret that no one else is in on. On the flip side, I think people may also think I'm crazy for sitting in lobbies waiting for my kid to finish his after school activities - staring at the wall, or possibly ignoring them if they attempt to talk to me. LOL.

I have wireless earbuds. I only run inside on a treadmill so I keep my phone on the treadmill and stream pandora. I had to go to wireless because I halve an iPhone 7, so no jack. I prefer it because I’m ridiculously uncoordinated and used to constantly hit the wife and knock my phone off the treadmill.

I have a Samsung Gear Fit 2, which can stream Spotify or play it offline. I have a random pair of bluetooth headphones bought on Prime Day that work well with it.
