I'm going to make the Upton dress from Cashmerette patterns for my brother's wedding. I'm having a hard time narrowing down fabric though. The wedding itself is a Saturday evening in June in Denver, CO. Formal, but not tux formal. It's at a super posh hotel, though.
I would get all these in samples before ordering the full quantity of fabric, probably in a satin, but spoonflower has other options I'll look at, too.
My first option is a printed lace, which is probably my favorite option. I'm leaning towards this darker blue, but the dark purple and dark teal are also good options. I don't want to go too light with the background color. Here's the designer's page with all the color options.
Second option is a basic damask pattern, probably in black and white. (possibly not this exact one, either)
I love the watercolor patterns, too, like this one
There are so many other fabrics I love on spoonflower but most have some kind of theme that wouldn't fit at a wedding.
OR
I go with a solid color satin or crepe or whatever, with or without a regular lace overlay.
I look better in jewel tones, silver rather than gold, pale, with dark hair (which will most likely be a dark purple for the wedding). Opinions?

I would be worried a bit about pattern matching the damask across the waist with the pleats and pockets. If that doesn’t bother you then don’t worry about it.
The printed lace fabric is nice. Have you ordered from Spoonflower before? I would probably get a sample in your base to make sure the print looks good on the weave. I know there are some issues with brightness and the white background showing through on darker prints and especially on their knit bases.
Otherwise I think they all would look great. That is a very flattering dress.
I really like the printed lace and would look good in a more upscale setting. We’re pretty casual here in Denver, but if you can’t dress up for a wedding, when can you?! You may see people in all ranges of the casual-fancy spectrum at the wedding. Mine was at a historic mansion in June and most people dressed up, but there were a few in “fancy” jeans ;-)
I'm not a sewer, so take this FWIW. I'm concerned that the floral pattern isn't going to look dressy enough based on how you described the event. I like the lace a lot!
