Yesterday, I walked upstairs and I was wiped out. So that's how tired I'm feeling right now.
My coach and I had a conversation today about expectations. I think I should be going out and nailing every workout and getting better and better, and he had to rein me in and tell me "No. You're tired. Your body is tired. You shouldn't be setting the world on fire right now because if you are, we're doing something wrong and peaking you too early." Which, makes sense, but is hard to rationalize in the middle of a long run and I'm just thinking "Why the fuck does this suck so bad?" He said I'm right on track, and I'm making good gains, even if I can't see them.
I also am in LOVE with his 2 week build, 1 week recovery approach to this training cycle. I can do anything for 2 weeks.
I have a conference next week, so he's worked my schedule so it's a recovery week. Right now, I'm researching places to run and pools to swim in, so I can still get workouts in. My bike will take a hit, but it is what it is. I'm the head of the organization putting on the conference, so I can't exactly skip it.
Despite being tired, I'm still feeling good overall. My feet won't stop hurting, which is frustrating. But besides that, and some random knots in my back that pop up and say hi, I'm good.

- What's the one workout during your Monster Block that you know you're going to nail? Which one is making you nervous? Nail? No idea. Nervous? Any of the remaining long runs. I'm even nervous for the half marathon I'm doing in a couple weeks.
- How are you performing self-care this week? HAHAHAHAHA that's funny. Spring break is over, I have my normal week plus extra meetings and a stupid academic dishonesty hearing, and...a lot of training? I guess my self care will be wearing my boots, and sleeping late AF on Sunday.
- What's your favorite cookie? Good old chocolate chip. Preferably warm right out of the oven.
