That’s awesome! All states need to get on board with this. I am so fortunate to live in a mandatory coverage state. I could not have done this without health insurance coverage.

My first 4 were done under NJ insurance. Last year, between January and August, I had 3 egg retrievals (1 transfer) and used $78,000 worth of insurance. I can tell you with full confidence that I would not be on my 5th IVF cycle if we didn't have that coverage.

I am NJ too. This place has terrible taxes but good insurance lol.

Thankfully I live on the PA side! The job I had insurance through was terribly toxic, but I learned a few valuable skills that I'm applying in my current job AND I got the insurance and COBRAed the crap out of it, so I guess the 1 hour commute was worth it. Plus everything else!

Well, private employers can still opt out as mine did, so unless the legislation covers that aspect of it a lot of people are still screwed. St least it’s a step in the right direction.
I moved out of NY last year. We had $10K lifetime benefits subject to 50% deductible with BCBS when we were there though. Luckily the lifetime reset when we switched from me to H as primary, so we did two cycles up North. Now in SC we happen to have United Healthcare and another $10K lifetime. Hoping our FETs work though.
This is amazing! Congrats to our NY ladies who can benefit from this.
Here in your neighboring PA, luckily we had help for our 100% OOP 3 retrievals and four transfers. Since we were that lucky, I hope we're in a position one day to be able to sponsor someone's cycle. Fingers crossed.
My first cycle was in DC and OOP. It was so hard. Luckily for my second cycle I had insurance coverage in MD which is a mandated state. It definitely made an already difficult process a little less stressful (although insurance has it's own stressors).
I know there are a million ways for companies to get around this, but this is a great step in the right direction. I hope more states follow suit.
