I have an embroidery machine and like to make stuff on it. Like stuffed animals made in the hoop. I crochet too, so both of my kids have crocheted winter hats that they love. I sew a little, and I really want to make a quilt. I’m working up the courage.
The only thing I really collect are hard back books. It has to be ones I really like or classics. My favorites are Gone with the Wind, Pride and Prejudice, and my all time favorite To Kill a Mockingbird. I have many others. I thought I was going to be so well off that I would have a library in my house. Instead I have them on a small shelf in the living room and lined on an antique desk in the living room and my several in the TV stand in my bedroom. Dh is supposed to build some shelves in the computer niche downstairs, but that is very, very low on his list.
I quilt, although I haven't in quite a while. I need to get my groove back. I have a block of the month project that was going to be my 2019 "self care" project. Haven't done a single one and we're in April, so totally failing there. I also have a hand sewing quilt that I keep intending to work on while I watch TV and relax at night. Again, haven't touched it, but I know I need to. I need something to do with my hands to calm down.
mommyatty, quilting really isn't that hard if you start with a simple pattern. Let me know if you want me to share some with you! I have a few free ones that are very beginner, but come out looking really cute.
For collections, I have a stash of antique books that I love. I have some on display in my living room, but a whole box that I don't have room to display right now. I need to come up with a better set up so that they can all be out and more noticeable as decor. The issue is the kids like looking at them and a lot of them are too fragile for their crazy kid hands.
I like to make cute, bento style lunches for my kids. I used to do it every day and document it on IG, but I've gotten away from that as the kids have gotten older and mornings have become more hectic. I need to start back up again. But you can check them out @peytonslunchbox if you want to see them.
I collect sea glass. When the weather is tolerable, I walk the beach and look for it. I could do it for hours. DD2 likes to do it as well, so sometimes we do it together. But I really enjoy doing it alone.
I enjoy cross stitch, but I hate the way it looks... so I do it and then put it in a box and never display it.
Not really making anything concrete, but I play violin. Alone, when no one can hear, and it’s just for me.
In reality, no. I have a collection of paperback books that I've whittled down. If it hasn't been reread, it's been donated. And even now, I'm working on getting rid of those - my book collection is transitioning to almost entirely digital. When ebooks came out, I was horrified at the idea. But now that I'm entrenched and in the process of trying to figure out how to convert our office into an office/guest room, the idea of not storing books (that I don't read, because I prefer a digital format) sounds brilliant.

I'm utterly devoid of collections except for the castles I collected when I was a kid. I hate clutter. All I want in my house are books and pictures, and prisms in the windows. So maybe I'm a really bad collector of prisms?
I've never been a collector and I can't handle clutter. I make photo books for the kids. Each kid gets a book for their birthday with pictures and notes from the past year.
k3am, we donated most of our books last month for the same reason. I'm on a Marie Kondo mission. I haven't gone the electronic route yet for reading though. I give my books away now and I know it's a waste of money. What digital format do you use?
I recently bought a Silhouette Cameo 3, and lately I've been making heat transfer designs for onesies and shirts. I'm also planning to start making decals and stickers, but I haven't gotten around to those yet. It's been a lot of fun, and it's way cheaper to buy multi-packs of plain colored onesies and put my own designs on them.
H is in the process of building me a crafting desk so that I have a place for that and my sewing machine. I have a ridiculous amount of fabric that's waiting to be turned into fun stuff, but no space to set up my machine unless I take over the dining room table (which is already currently being occupied by my Cameo).
I like to scrape book and I've gotten into making wreaths. Have all the stuff but can't seem to find the time to do it or the space to set it up to work on it for an extended period of time.
I plan on trying to Marie Kondo rooms starting in May to de-clutter.
mellym, I'm a kindle fan. They just make it so easy. I wish I were more willing to go through hoops to save money and use Overdrive and the library, but I didn't like the waiting.
To justify the cost though, if it's a good book, I'll end up rereading it.
DH has his video games, I have my books, and neither of us questions what the other spends.

Between Hoopla and Overdrive, I get a lot of books which saves me a lot. I usually have a nonfiction audio book that I listen to when I run or walk and a fiction fluff book that I read to relax, so I go through a lot of books. Overdrive books sometimes have a wait list, which makes me mad. I am currently 233 for about 7 books for Educated. It's an ebook for heaven's sake?? Just send it to me.
I used to scrapbook but have no time anymore and prefer doing it digitally. I like crafting and make cute things for school parties now but don’t save anything. I’d like a cricut to do cool things with but don’t have a real idea yet of what I’d do so it seems too expensive for that. I have sewn bags for the kids and a blanket but am a novice at best. I hate clutter so don’t collect stuff.
I used to collect stuff as s kid but now I don’t have room to store it. I collected and played with Breyer horses and collected stamps for a while. I had a few other small collections like craft bears and little animals. My mom always dragged me to craft stores which I hated and would get me a small reward for surviving her hours long craft store shopping trips.
I collect small items from places I travel. I try not to collect typical touristy stuff. I like finding things made in the countries I visit. I have a display case in my living room where I put all my memories. It's nice to glance over sometimes and see some of the unique things I have collected over the years. It instantly takes me back to certain memories and experiences, which I really enjoy.
