We are starting to talk about our family winter trip (I know this is early but there’s so many options it seems like). We have 4 kids so we are limited on where we can stay where we can get one room for all of us. I’m running into road blocks because they only allow 5 or less per room.
We are beach/pool people and my husband doesn’t want to go to Mexico. Otherwise we are pretty open. We are flying from the Mpls. We all have passports. Timing would be between 5-7 days depending on cost.
We do have a Costco membership so that’s always an option.
"Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you've got a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies-"God damn it, you've got to be kind.”
It's in Mexico, but Ocean Riviera Paradise has a huge kids area. I was there on an adults girls' trip but it looked amazing for kids. The rooms have 2 queen beds + a pull out so I would imagine you could all be in 1 room.
Jamaica, Dominican Republic are the two places I think of first after Mexico. Some places have family suites that fit 6+. I think these may be connecting rooms. FYI - I have not stayed in these places.
Another one I found - NOW larimar. Have a Deluxe Family Room that sleeps 6. No idea on price. www.nowresorts.com/larimar/luxurious-accommodations In Puerto Rico, there are plenty of apartments to rent that would fit everyone, but not all inclusives.

Don't go to Iberostar! Some of the room smell very musty
For that number, you may well need a suite at a lot of places. I've stayed in the suites at Hyatt Ziva but am not sure what their official occupancy numbers are. Those are nice. I recommend Jewel Runaway Bay to anyone with children (it's my kids' favourite place in the world) but again, I'm not sure of their occupancy numbers. Would you be willing to get two rooms? I do know that Jewel have adjoining rooms so that could work.

Yeah we’d be willing to get 2 adjoining rooms! We just want a good beach, good pool and a good chance of warm weather in January.

Jewel runaway bay would be awesome. Lots of pools, water park, good beach and good weather jn January normally. Also a great kids club that is good for all ages!! We’ve always been able to get adjoining rooms.
We enjoyed Hyatt Ziva Rose Hall enough that we looked around at the kids side and thought we would be ok there with kids too. That’s Jamaica so fits your husbands no Mexico rule. Beaches in Jamaica will likely be better but maybe over budget.

Yeah, we’ve stayed at Sandals and I was looking at beaches and I think we’d need 2 rooms which makes it more than $10,000.

If you do end up considering Beaches, the one in Negril has a way way nicer beach that the one near Ocho Rios (Boscobel).
Now Onyx in Punta Cana is amazing. Only about 2 years old, and there is an adult pool there that is so amazing. In addition, the adults have access to the Breathless resort next door. The beach is lovely, the water is swimmable, and the service was awesome!
