Kid book recommendations that parent can enjoy

I’m struggling to find books to read with DD (8). She loves Owl Diaries, Dork Diaries, Dog Man, Ivy & Bean type books and can read them by herself. I’m looking for recommendations for books that I can read to her. We are currently reading Matilda and we’ve read Charlotte’s Web and A Wrinkle In Time. I have Wonder but I’m not sure if it’s appropriate for her. Any other recommendations for books we can enjoy together.

The Ramona Quimby series by Beverly Cleary or any other books by Beverly Cleary.

Harry Potter

My ds and I did his 4th grade battle of the books this year, so we both read a list of books and then had a trivia night for them. I really enjoyed many of the books we read, and so did he, and they were books I'd never heard of before: Fuzzy Mud, Moo, Escape from Mr. Lemoncello's Library (kinda along the lines of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, which is another option), Wild Robot, and some non-fiction books of which our favorite (and my dd loved too) was I Dissent.

Tuck Everlasting and Harriet the Spy were two books I loved as a child.

DD is 8.

She is a strong reader but still loves to be read to. She’s enjoyed Sideways Stories from Wayside School, Classroom 13, and The Who Was series. She can read them all but still likes hearing them.

Charlotte’s Web was too sad. She didn’t like Ronald Dahl. Ramona was only ok.

American Girl books. Try to get the older ones with six in a series and illustrations.
