I’m up in DC semi-frequently thanks to work/family, whoop whoop. I keep telling my H that we will be retiring there one day - cute little place without a yard and we spend all our time in museums.
ESF, I live in TKPK. Short term rentals are posted fairly frequently on our local listservs - I'd be happy to forward them as you get closer. And happy to help with any questions you have about the area. Welcome in advance back to the area.
Awesome, thank you!!! I will definitely reach out later this summer!!!

The museums! I’m so excited for the museums again. Last week, h and I went to a Monet exhibit here and between the tickets and the cost of parking, it was over $100. The entire time, we kept saying how amazing it will be to be able to go to a museum for the cost of a metro ticket.

The kids and I are here this week and today we didn’t have anything specific planned. So we hopped on the metro, went to a few museums, walked over to the Washington monument and then up to White House. And spent a total of $15. Metro card fare for three back and forth to our hotel.
I love it here but I did feel sick when we went by the White House.

How are the crowds this week? This is likely how we’ll spend part of spring break in the future.

They haven’t been bad. It’s definitely busier than when we’ve been here in the fall, but it’s not packed or anything. I hate crowds and haven’t been bothered at all. We are going to SCOTUS tomorrow and we were at the Capitol today. The Capitol was busy but do the tour through your Senator’s office and it’s fine. Plus if the house isn’t in session and you do it through your Senator’s office you get to go out on the speaker’s balcony! The view was incredible.
