1. Where are you in your TTC journey? (TTC#, CD, DPO, etc). TTC#2, Cycle 2 after 2nd loss. Maybe 1 dpo? Not entirely sure since I was bad with charting and didn't use OPKs this cycle.
2. Any upcoming tests? No. We didn't try this cycle at the request of my OBGYN.
3. It's spring (well, mostly)! Do you plant a garden or otherwise do any other outdoorsy stuff? Sort of? We're renting the house we live in so the grass and front garden is maintained by a landscaping company, but there's a small vegetable garden box in the backyard I'm going to try to work with this year. We had a groundhog living under the shed last year so I didn't even try. I am thinking chicken wire this year.
4. Questions? Randoms? I'm waiting on a pcos investigation ultrasound on Monday and will see my OBGYN again on May 7th for the results. My bloodwork has all comeback (except AMH which is apparently going to take another day or two) and it's showing elevated numbers for pcos-related hormones and high insulin. So based on our conversation last time I'll likely end up on metformin and then when he clears us to TTC again, post-O progesterone suppositories and baby aspirin (not sure if the aspirin will be all cycle or just post-O). I'm glad we're moving forward, but I'm sad I had to go through two losses to get to this point. I am also feeling more and more like DS was basically a freak miracle which I am so so greatful for.
1. Where are you in your TTC journey? (TTC#, CD, DPO, etc). TTC1, CD32, cycle lost count
2. Any upcoming tests? None, waiting on my laparascopy and hysteroscopy which is scheduled for 2 weeks.
3. It's spring (well, mostly)! Do you plant a garden or otherwise do any other outdoorsy stuff? I spread mulch does that count?!?! I want to have a garden but the dog finds a way into it and starts munching on the plants. I do the typical herbs like basil though
4. Questions? Randoms? I feel like this year has been nothing but doctors appointments. We had ER in January, frozen transfer in feb (failed), start of frozen transfer 2 in march (cancelled), surgery in april and maybe attempt transfer2 (or another ER) in May.
My other random - my FIL is coming out for Easter. Originally he was only staying for 3 days, now he's staying for 10. Help me and send booze!! I can deal with him for 3 days but any longer gets on my last nerve. My issue is he NEVER cleans up after himself and it drives me insane. Both DH and I have to work (I WFH everyday) so he'll sit here in the house all day watching tv or reading while I'm trying to work.

Have you gone to an RE yet? Personally I'd do that instead of your OB. OB's take forever where with an RE things move quick. I have severe PCOS and metformin doesn't help me at all (I'm on 1500mg/day). Other things to do would be an HSG to make sure your tubes are open and have your DH get an SA done. A LOT of things can change overtime.

I have not been to an RE yet. I'm in Canada and we need referrals for everything. An OBGYN is the first step in the process. Most REs in my area won't see you until you've been TTC unsuccessfully for 2 years. At this point, he didn't feel an HSG was necessary since I've been pregnant 3 times. I had a saline sonogram a few weeks ago and everything was normal with that.
H had a normal SA back when we were TTC our son. I'm taking a copy of those results to my OB at our next appointment. He may want H to do it again (which H will be just SUPER thrilled about).

1. Where are you in your TTC journey? (TTC#, CD, DPO, etc). TTC #2, CD 5, Cycle #3
2. Any upcoming tests? Since starting to take vitex, I'll start taking my opks tomorrow. My surge is always unpredictable, but this could make it early so we shall see.
3. It's spring (well, mostly)! Do you plant a garden or otherwise do any other outdoorsy stuff? As much as we can fit in the schedule - We just bought a new tree for the front yard (Jane Magnolia) and will probably do some container gardening for vegetables this spring, too. I'm excited for warm weather again. I was hoping to go to the park this weekend, but the forecast looks like a lot of rain.
4. Questions? Randoms? I saw my midwife today and was so happy to have someone just listen, even if she can't get me very far with treatment. She thinks I should definitely be tested for pcos and referred me to her own ob-gyn that she highly recommends. Hopefully I have better luck than the last one. I will call in the morning and see if I can get a consult and hopefully they will set me up with some blood work and an hsg. I hate that this is so stressful. I hate that all my friends conceive in the first 1 or 2 cycles. And also, I am just tired of having sex.
Does anyone here have pcos. She mentioned the first line of treatment is 3 months on birth control and metformin, followed by several cycles of trying while still taking metformin. Let me tell you, I do NOT like the sound of birth control and generally avoid all hormones when trying to avoid. So, not keen on that...or putting the ttc on hold for three months.
And one more question, because I'm full of them. I do not sleep soundly - especially as morning draws near. If I am waking up somewhat, does that affect my temperature? I've heard of people setting alarms at 3:30 am just to get a good reading and I refuse to do that.

That sucks about waiting two years to see an RE. I'm stunned.

Lol, welcome to Ontario. We have (mostly) free health care but things take time. Because Iโm seeing an OBGYN now Iโd be able to get in pretty soon but if I was TTC #1 and didnโt have any other conditions that would cause infertility most doctors wouldnโt refer you until the 2 year mark. When it was taking us time for DS I brought it up with my doctor and she said she wouldnโt discuss anything until at least a year.

I'd still see if your DH can do another SA. A LOT can change with men as well so even though it would have been normal a few years ago doesn't mean numbers haven't changed.

I'm going to ask about it! Last time it was a fucking process because the req was just from his family doctor and unless you're being seen by the local fertility clinic you have to take it to a city over an hour away, and it has to be collected within an hour, and you need an appointment to drop it off. Ultimately because of logistical issues we had to rent a hotel room close to the clinic and then drive it over. It was awkward AF. I'm hoping that the OB can refer it over to the fertility clinic that's been doing my ultrasounds.

I have severe PCOS and have for 10+ years. I've been on metformin for at least that entire time and am taking 1500mg/day. BC is commonly used as a way to have control over your cycle. When I did my IUI's they had me on BC. I'd come off BC a few weeks later and start a cycle and that's when meds would start. I didn't use BC for my IVF cycle though since everything was quiet inside and it was a different RE. Metformin for me doesn't work and it hasn't regulated my cycle. I don't have ovulate therefor I don't have a normal period and for me it needs to be forced with meds.
I can't answer the charting/temp question. I never temped and using OPK's with PCOS usually lead to false positives. Once you're with an RE they monitor you A LOT.

1. Where are you in your TTC journey? (TTC#, CD, DPO, etc). TTC #2, CD28, 13 DPO
2. Any upcoming tests? Hoping a pregnancy test this weekend.
3. It's spring (well, mostly)! Do you plant a garden or otherwise do any other outdoorsy stuff? We will, eventually. I used to plant Zinnia in my raised flowerbeds, but life is much busier and I donโt have that house anymore! This is our first married spring and our first spring at our new house, so it will be the first time we do that stuff together. We are likely planting flowers at the house we are putting on the market - but those flowers will be whatever is cheap and look pretty.
4. Questions? Randoms? I am trying to wait it out until Sunday to take a pregnancy test so we arenโt testing before I am technically late. I was having 26 day cycles for the last 4 months, but I started progesterone supplements this month, so the doctor said to anticipate that my cycles will be longer. All my PMS symptoms would also be masked by the progesterone supplement so I really have no idea what to think at this point. I really donโt have the energy right now to get my hopes up.

Thank you for sharing your experience! I've been considering skipping the OB and going straight to the RE since they are the experts. I also really like the idea of being monitored a lot, lol.

Can he just do his collection at the clinic? I know itโs awkward but itโs over pretty quick lol.
Did your OB order a karyotype for you and your husband?

If they will do it through the fertility clinic, then yes. Otherwise if we have to drop it off at the lab thatโs not in our city, no. Which is unbelievably annoying.
No, not as of yet. But Iโll add it to the list of things!
