Is this weird? Re: smells

I have some sort of smell-memory. Like, if I think about a certain place or person, or see a picture of something, I immediately "smell" that thing. Obviously I'm not actually smelling that thing so my brain is making it up somehow. It doesn't happen all the time, thank goodness, but I can do it on command-- if I think about the smell of a rose, I can smell it. Am I alone in this?

Actually, quite common. Olfactory glands can trigger memories more often than any of the other senses.

IDK, it happens to me sometimes, but not often.

I do that too. Especially with things from childhood like my great grandma's house or fresh garden peas or old books.

That happens for me, if it is a happy memory, like my grandmother's house.

Me too, although not always on command. Much like I can't think of other songs while listening to music, I can't "think" of a smell if my nose is already overwhelmed.
