...is not my favorite person, as we all know. But she spent 8 hours on a train yesterday with a sinus infection and GI issues so she could be here for Grandparents Day at S's school. So I'm going to try and focus on that instead of her pro-Trump, semi-racist, medically ignorant, unacknowledged privileged pronouncements. S is over the moon that she's here today

It’s sweet that S is excited. Concentrate on that. I lucked out and just had quirky in-laws. Well FIL. He once asked if we had a queen or king size bed. And when I told him it was a queen he said that was the best because otherwise you’re too far apart and other stuff but I stopped listening. It was just too awkward.

I am following H's tactic of just pretending she isn't speaking when she starts to get into weird or controversial territory.

She gets to see S dance this weekend, so that will be nice
