I don't think we're going to sell this house. We have a minimum that we need to achieve and it's not going to happen. Our house is on a somewhat busy road (not super busy but busy enough). Most people are saying that's why they won't put an offer on it. We might get an offer if we put it on for a lot less than we'd be able to afford accepting, so that's a no go. Ugh.
I so wanted to get my H out of his childhood house and into something new - it would be good for our relationship too (living in his old home along with his mother is very inhibiting). I was so excited to move to the new area, have some new experiences, meet new people and it's looking less and less likely, the closer we get to the summer months.
Anyone else have any house/land/etc related frustrations?
Ugh, I'm so sorry. You've been through such a slog w/that house - esp in light of the real estate rules/market in the UK.
Can you afford to take a slight loss for the sake of your lives/marriage? Do you have a realtor who can lay it out for you and give you options, like a 'where are we at now'?

I'd be willing but not sure my H would be. He really, really, really wants to be able to buy a rental in the future and so isn't willing to take less money than he hoped in both houses. I think he's also a bit pissed off that the housing market is falling in London in some areas, but not so much in others - and ours is one of the affected areas but where we want to go, not so much. Sigh.
We'll make it work regardless. I just need to get my pissy feelings out (such first world problems) and then I won't take it out on him.
Ugh. What a pain. I can relate to sinking property values, etc. We never intended on owning our condo for 11.5 years, but it has taken this long for property values to rebound enough that we weren't going to have to bring a bunch of money to closing.
Speaking of which, we signed the settlement paperwork on Monday, but the buyer hasn't signed yet. His closing date was pushed to tomorrow because the underwriter is being a slow-ass. Here we go again with underwriters making things difficult again.
