I love seeing how people schedule their days! I think it also helps with tweaking our own routines. I'm not working or in school at the moment, so it's pretty relaxed (for the next 2 weeks at least lol).
7.30 ish - wake-up, brush and shower 8 - breakfast for me, kid and H. Oatmeal for me, granola for the kid and smoothie for the H. Start the process of waking the kid up. H takes the dog out. 8.30 - ish - start making and packing lunch. 9 - drop the kid in preschool, H leaves for work. 10ish - get back home and respond to emails and work on the paper revisions. 12 - Lunch. I make a quick sandwich or wrap. Watch something on youtube (usually GoT theories or deep dives, lol) 1-3 - Household related errands/ PT appointments. 3 - back home and take the dog on a long walk. 4ish - back home and do a quick workout. Whatever's on youtube that's very low impact. 4.30 - go to pick up the kid. 6 - come home, give her a quick shower and let her play while I make dinner for her. 6.30 - hangout with the kid while she eats and call family on video. 7.30 - H comes home and depending on whether he had food at his meetings, I'll make dinner. H takes the dog out again. 8.00 - eat and clean up the kitchen counters. H will do the dishes later. 8.30 - H should have gotten the kid to brush by then, so I take her and get her to sleep while he goes and decompresses a bit. 9.30 - Hopefully kid's asleep by now and I watch something on Netflix while H is usually catching up on work. 11.00 - 12.00 - sleep at some point. H takes the dog out one more time and then lights out.
Hmmmm this is interesting. I'll play, but mostly looking forward to reading responses.
4:50am - First alarm goes off, I hit snooze 5:15am - Will myself out of bed for the day, shower (if necessary), throw on clothes, brush teeth, run a brush through my hair, grab previously packed breakfast and lunch 5:30am - Leave for work 6:00am -Arrive at work 6:00am-4:00pm - Work or screw around on GBCN, usually a lot of both (I eat lunch in there somewhere, often at my desk, sometimes I take an actual break and go eat outside or have lunch with a friend) 4:00pm-Leave work to pick up kids 5:00pm - Arrive at daycare 5:15pm - Finally leave daycare to head home 5:23pm - Arrive home (thank fucking God this is my life now. This used to be more like a 5:45-6:00pm arrival because of how far away we lived.) 5:30pm - After shedding coats, shoes, etc. I start throwing together dinner for the kids 5:40pm -While they eat dinner, I unpack their lunch boxes, put previously packed lunches in their bags (I do 3 days worth of lunches on Sunday, then 2 more days on Wednesday night), start unloading the dishwasher 6:00pm - DH arrives home and starts helping with kitchen stuff (unloading/loading the dishwasher, general clean up) 6:15pm - Since it's summer, we head out for a walk to the park and let the kids play for a bit 6:40pm - Head home 6:45 - Start baths/bedtime (DH and I generally each take a kid and swap every other night) 7:30pm - Lights out for the boys 7:35pm - Heat up leftovers from whatever I made on the weekend to eat during the week and collapse on the couch with my dinner 7:40-8:30pm - Browse the internet or watch a show 8:45pm - Head upstairs to get ready for bed and read (I may shower here if I didn't in the morning) 9:30pm - Lights out
It should be noted that this is an ideal day. It's not infrequent that we all go to bed a bit later or baths get skipped to make up for lost time somewhere in there.
eta: Also of note, on Monday night, I throw a load of towels in the wash, dry them, and fold while I'm relaxing. Same thing for kids clothes (Tuesday, put away on Wednesday) and our clothes (Thursday, put away on Friday). I barely work on Friday, so I change sheets then and wash them. Grocery shopping (usually pickup) gets done Friday as well. Sunday is meal prep where I get 3 days worth of lunches ready for the kids and prep two different meals for DH and I to eat throughout the week.
Whoa!! That's a long work day. Do you have fridays off at least? I like that you guys go outside in the evenings. We should also try to incorporate that in our schedule.
Whoa!! That's a long work day. Do you have fridays off at least? I like that you guys go outside in the evenings. We should also try to incorporate that in our schedule.
Pretty much. I work 6a-4p Monday through Thursday and 6a-10a on Friday. But if I'm being honest, I usually don't roll out of bed until 6:30 on Friday, I check my email, then start helping with the kids. I usually take them to school and am back home in time for an 8:30 call with my team. That usually ends at 9:30 and then I sign off for the day. So I pretty much only "work" during that hour long call and I'm usually on mute getting stuff done around the house while I'm on it.
I really love my schedule, but mornings are definitely hard.
6:00 alarm goes off. DH is already gone for the day and he has thrown a load of laundry in the washing machine. I switch it to the dryer. 6:15 start workout 6:30 DD3 wakes up 6:45 Done with my workout and wake up DD1 & 2 and make breakfast for the girls 7:05 Send big girls up to get dressed and ready for school while I pack lunches 7:30 their bus comes and I head up to take a shower and get ready for work. DD3 watches a show until I am done 8:15 My MIL comes to pick up DD3. I prep anything I can for dinner that night. 8:30 I leave for work 5:00 I leave work and head to the pool to pick up DD1 & 2 from practice. 5:20 I arrive and the pool and DH (who has brought DD2 at 4:30) leaves with dd3 to go home and make dinner. 6:15 Both girls are now done and dressed and I take them and a friend home 6:45 we are all eating dinner 7:15 DD1 starts her homework and DD2 &3 play (DD2 does her homework when she gets home from school with MIL and before DH gets there at 4) DH or I do evenings stuff - pick up the kitchen, help DD1 with homework, fold laundry 8:00 DD2&3 get ready for bed and DD1 is usually done with homework. She has an hour to practice her violin for at least 20 minutes and read. 9:00 DD1 goes to bed and DH and I collapse on the couch 10:00 I normally go to bed
5:45 - I wake up, get dressed, walk the dog, unload the dishwasher, get breakfast and lunches going 7 - I wake up everyone else. DS1 showers/does his own stuff. DS2 I still get him breakfast and set out his clothes but otherwise gets ready on his own. 7:50 - I walk DS2 to school (it’s literally across the street - takes 30 seconds) 8 ish - I either have a meeting (I’m PTO co chair plus on the board of a local non profit and we have a lot of morning meetings). If no meeting I take the dog to the dog park for an hour 9:30 ish - I work out. These days I either use our peleton our treadmill. Pre peleton I went to various classes. 11-2:30 - a combination of showering, house cleaning, errands, occasional lunch with friends, and another dog walk. 2:30 - school pick up. DS1 does his own thing after school. He does rowing/crew, soccer, and track right now. Other days he hangs with friends. He can walk or take the T everywhere on his own so I just check in with him and he goes off. DS1 has on various days swimming, piano, his therapist, soccer, and LEGO club so I take him to those. We play on the school playground for 30-45 minutes then go to his activity for the day. 6 pm-ish - usually home with DS2 so I cook dinner while he hangs out and plays or watches tv. Post dinner DS1 does homework, DS2 plays, I clean up the house and finish laundry etc. A few times a month I have evening meetings. 8:30 - DS2 bedtime 9:30 - DS1 bedtime After the kids are in bed I watch a show with DH or veg out and play candy crush lol.
I'll play! THis is my Tues, Thurs and Friday routine.
4:55 Alarm goes. Get up and do bootcamp with some of the other mums in my community. 6:00 Home from bootcamp. Wake up kids 6:15 Eat breakfast with the kids (Cereal or eggs and toast). 6:30 Everyone showers and gets dressed 6:50 leave home 7:15 Drop kids at school 7:40 Arrive work and drink coffee. Start officially at 7:45 12:00 Eat lunch at desk - usually left overs from whatever the kids had the previous day. 1:50-2:40 Leave office. Pick up kids from school. Drop kids at home. Get back to work. 4:30 Leave work. Meet kids at whatever activity (swimming or golf) and head home together. My nanny walks them to their activities. 5:15 Home. Check over any homework. Go outside while the kids play and talk to /drink wine with the other mums 6:00 Eat light meal with kids (they eat their main meal at 2:15 when they get home from school). 6:15 TV 6:35 Kids shower 6:45 Bedtime books 7:00 Lights out for the boys. Mummy collapses!

I'm a professor, but I do more administration than teaching. My work is weird. I tend to work in intermittent bursts putting in 50-60 hours one week and then 20 or 30 the next. I don't really have a typical day because my schedule is irregular, but I'd say the most common day for me looks like:
5:15- kiss DH goodbye, let the dog out, and go back to bed 9- wake up and surf the internet while trying to become fully human 9:30-10:30- combination of answering emails and drinking a diet coke (again---that fully human thing) 10:30-12:00- work out and shower. I'm also checking and responding to emails between sets. On non-workout days this is usually course prep time or I run errands. I email at the deli counter. 12:00-1:00- get ready, eat, and do small tasks for work (think spreadsheets or making student advising plans) 1:00-4:00- some variation of meetings, research, and teaching 4:00-7:00- work on a more substantive task (like prepping New Faculty Orientation or grading papers) while prepping dinner and doing laundry 7:00-9:00- hang out with DH 9:00-10:00- answer emails, grade papers if I'm teaching 10:00-1:00- read for fun, watch crappy TV, relax 1:00- bedtime!
DH and I both WFH and have a 6 year old DS. I also have 2 teen SDs but they aren't here on weekdays
6:45 Alarm, shower, dry my hair and get dressed 7:30 get DS breakfast, make his lunch. DH works from 7:30-8 then supervises teeth brushing and getting dressed. 8:15 start work for me 8:30-8:45 DH takes DS to school 11:30 Make lunch (usually a salad) and eat at my desk 3:30 I go pick up DS from school 4:00 More work 5:00 Quit for the day and start making dinner 5:30 DH quits for the day and plays with DS 6:00 Dinner then hang out doing whatever 7:00 bath every other night, non bath nights we go up at 7:30 7:30 DS brushes teeth, bedtime stories 8:00 DS bedtime Watch tv/read/etc 11:00 bedtime
During the daytime I'll throw in a load of laundry or take a break and fold a load here and there. Sunday night is DS laundry. Monday is my clothes and linens, Tuesday is DHs clothes and he usually leaves his to sit until I snap at him on Friday. I clicklist all my groceries and I have a robot vacuum going in different rooms on different days. DS has therapy Wednesday evening and I have therapy Thursday at lunchtime.
Well every day is different but lol try to make it streamlined.
6:30: out of bed, pack DD’s lunch, drink coffee 6:45: DD gets up, gets dressed, makes her bed, and watches a show while she eats breakfast. I get dressed and drink more coffee and eat my own breakfast. 7:30: I do her hair, she gets her shoes on, and I walk her to school. 8:00: home, more coffee, relax 8:30: out the door for a gym class 10:15-3:00: whatever needs to be done. Cleaning, grocery store, errands, pay bills, appointments, etc. I shower in there, too. The time goes by fast. 3:00: walk over to the school to get DD 3:45: back home. She relaxes with a snack for a bit and then I either help with homework, take her to an activity, or prep dinner. We eat anywhere between 5-7 depending on the day and activity. DH gets home at some point. This is the very busy time of day but we dropped to just soccer so it’s more manageable now. 7:00: DD showers 7:30: DD reads to us, I read to her. Bedtime at 8, she can read more if she wants. 8:30: retreat to my bed with my own book
5:00am wake up, go to the gym 6:40 come home, shower, get ready for work -- H waked the boys up at 7 and gets them fed and dressed. Sometimes they "exercise" together at 6:30-- 7:15 H leaves for work, I make coffee and get lunches put together 7:30 boys and I are out the door. They go to school with me which is so much easier 4:30-5:00, depending on after school and sports schedules-- leave school / work for home -- H makes all dinners -- 6:00 Dinner 6:30 homework / clean up / showers / play while I'm cleaning the kitchen and prepping lunch / snacks for the next day. 7:00 boys get to watch one show 7:45 - 8:30 boys can read or play with us or in their rooms 8:30 is lights out for DS2. 9:00 is lights out for DS1 8:30-- Rachel Maddow for H and m. 9:15-- I go to bed.

I join later after baby goes to sleep or if by 8ish she’s not down, we both join them for books. 830 - lights out for DD1 830 - 10 - lately, deal with DD1 shenanigans until she finally falls asleep/stays in her room. In between, DH and I take turns with her and the other is in bed watching CNN or the Office on Netflix and playing on our phones. 10pm or as soon as DD1 leaves us alone, I pass out.
I forgot... 1130-12 - wake up to nurse DD2 (this one is getting more and more rare) 230-3 - wake up to nurse DD2
This makes me feel like I live a very boring life.
7:15 - 8:45am: Wake up, shower and get ready for work. Take Jiggles out for walk and feed him. 9am: Arrive at work Work Work Work Work Work. Its been crazy busy lately, so I have been staying late more often than usual. 6:45pm: eave the office. 7:10 -7:30: Get home, grab the pup and take him on a nice long walk. 7:30 - 8pm: Feed Jiggles and figure out my dinner (either cook or order delivery) 8pm - 100pm: Eat and watch TV - continue to watch TV after dinner, or sometimes sew or cross stitch. 6:30 Alarm goes off. I start the coffee machine and get in the shower while H feeds and walks the dogs.
7:00 I get dressed, blow dry my hair, and put on makeup.
7:30 Wake up DS. I make his and my lunches while he gets himself dressed. I also make two toaster waffles for him to eat while we go to school.
8:00 DS and I leave. Takes 5 minutes to walk to his school. We drop his backpack where his class lines up when the bell rings, and he goes to play on the playground until then. I leave to walk to my car and drive to work.
9:00-ish I arrive at work (graphic designer at a financial services company)
4:00 (Tuesdays and Thursdays only) I leave to pick DS up from after-care.
5:00 I arrive at after-care, grab DS, and jump back in the car. DS eats peanut butter crackers and an apple sauce pouch.
5:15 we arrive at baseball practice, at a rec center one block from our apartment.
6:30 practice ends, walk home.
6:45 microwave some Mac and cheese or chicken nuggets for DS for dinner (with carrot sticks or sliced bell pepper)
7:00 DS plays with toys or plays Minecraft while h and I figure out what to eat for dinner.
7:30 put DS in the bath
8:00 get DS out of the bath, he gets PJs on, brushes his teeth, we read a book, and sit with DS for 10 to 15 minutes while he falls to sleep.
9:00 veg out on the couch, watch TV, or work on my blog, or have sex with H, or whatever
11:00 go to bed
---------
On Mondays and Wednesdays, I stay at work until 5:30. H gets DS from after-care, and makes dinner while I drive home.
Fridays, I work from home, and pick DS up from school.
