What are you training for? Date? Nothing exactly (my next official race in the books is in September), but I totally want to AW that I am 16 half marathons into 40. (6/7 is the halfway point)
Training schedule for the week? M: half 16 T; rest W: run 5 Th: spin or run 4 F: 4 mile Friday S: group run or half 17 S: group run, half 17, or rest
Any issues/vents/complaints? Vent away! I am moving to a new boutique cycling studio (like cyclebar). It was supposed to open 4/29, but the opening got pushed back due to permit issues. On one hand, I feel so dumb for quitting at my other gym before I needed to, but I am so, so, so much less stressed having some breathing room. I think I was more burned out on spin than I thought.
Any AW's or brags? My ego is over the moon that I have the street cred to be a boutique gym level instructor. Also, my wallet will enjoy the pay bump
What are you training for? Date? 12 hour bike race (what's wrong with me? seriously?) 5/18 200k ride 6/4
Training schedule for the week? M - stretching T - 30 min ride with the kids, which is basically an interval workout towing them up all the little hills around our neighborhood W - trainer ride of as yet undetermined length, strength Th - trainer ride of as yet undetermined length F - rest Sa - finish waxing the boat. ugh. Su - long trainer ride most likely. it's supposed to rain.
Any issues/vents/complaints? Vent away! Remember when I used to swim and run also? Yeah, me neither.
Any AW's or brags? LOL, I mean, I wrote a whole recap, but century ride in the bag!
no idea - I was supposed to race a 25k on Saturday but last night they announced it was cancelled - the state park the race was in is flooded and there's more rain on the way all week.
Any issues/vents/complaints? Vent away! Well, originally I had signed up for 2 races this spring. This is the second race to be cancelled due to rain. I'm just glad that I had such a good time at my half a week and a half ago, which I signed up for almost last minute. I'd be a lot more bummed about the 25k being cancelled if I hadn't already done a half. Anyway, I'm signing up for a different half in a few weeks and we're going to camp there, which should be interesting.
Is this where I come in to say that I've totally derailed my running in 2019? Base re-building is in process cuz I have some big long-term goals
July: 12 hour overnight ultra, (will have a lot of walking in there but I WILL make it through the night!) August: 24 hour trail relay

Any AW's or brags? I've fallen in love with backpacking and had a successful first trip, looking forward to a couple more this year. I went way outside my comfort zone and signed up for a 7-week speedwork clinic through my local track club and it's been fantastic so far (week 3).

Any issues/vents/complaints? Vent away! I don't do well without a plan so I'm really winging the schedule right now. I'm trying to figure out what I want to do into the summer/ fall race wise.
Any AW's or brags? I got out for my first road bike ride of the year yesterday and I re fell in love with my bike.

Any issues/vents/complaints? Vent away! RR I need to seriously clean up my diet. I've been indulging far too often and it's time to start eating like a normal person and not someone running 60 miles a week.
NRR I'm over kid activities. I signed up for too many in addition to work and PTA. I'm overwhelmed.
Any AW's or brags? H and I are celebrating our 11th anniversary tomorrow. Crazy to think it's been 11 years. We're going out Sat night for a nice date night in DC. Can't wait.

I am frustrated with my 5K result from the weekend. I've run 2 of 3 scheduled 5Ks for the first part of the year. The first was just a baseline to see where I was compared to the last time I ran a 5K (like 2 years ago). I was basically at the same spot I was 2 years ago , 4 seconds faster, but basically the same. This weekend, I ran the second 5K of the series and I was only 4 seconds faster than I was a month ago. 4 sinking seconds. Why are 5Ks so hard? I feel like I've been really working hard doing a ton of 5K focused workouts, running a ton of miles, and yet I'm just barely shaving time off. Frustrating to not see some bigger results.
Any AW's or brags? After just having vented about how frustrated I was with my time in the weekend's 5K, I won! First place overall! WHAT?! Crazytown. I've never had that happen before and I doubt it'll ever happen again (unless I keep signing up for races that the local speedsters don't show up for). I'm a decent runner, but not super super fast. It was pretty fun to follow the lead bike though. And my kids were there. They never come to my races anymore, so it was so fun to see them at the finish and told them that I got first place. My daughter hasn't stopped talking about it which makes my heart pretty happy.
What are you training for? Date? - I finally figured out my post-IM summer races. Sprint tri 6/8, Oly tri relay 7/21, Oly tri 7/28, 1/3 Iron 8/25, 70.3 9/14
Training schedule for the week? Trying to get back in to a normal schedule. Mon - 1800 swim and 30 min easy run, Tues - group ride, Wed - coached run session, Thurs - Ride and brick run, Fri - 2500 swim, Sat - Ride and brick run, Sun - rest.
Any issues/vents/complaints? Vent away! - I’m STILL sunburned and peeling from Texas. It’s been over two weeks.
