Club Med?

Is Club Med kind of "meh" these days? I remember growing up they were "THE" resort to go to, but I have heard nothing of them lately. 

We are looking to book a Caribbean getaway and Club Med always pops up as a pretty affordable option. Was curious if they were affordable because they are total shit or if we would actually enjoy ourselves.
