Hi! I leave tomorrow to fly to Tanzania to climb Mount Kilimanjaro. I have a very limited bag weight for the trek, and am starting to second-guess myself.
I am on the mountain for 9 days, in weather that ranges from tropical rainforest to arctic snowstorm. I assume I can get 2 days out of each outfit. Should (can) I plan for 3 days for pants, and pack a fresh tee each day? Or 2 days for each top? Fresh socks and underwear each day?
I always have fresh underwear, because even with antimicrobial fabrics, I don’t really like to rewear. I can usually get 2-3 days out of socks if it’s not wet, so I’d usually aim for a few pairs of hiking socks in different weights and then plan to swap out my sock liners on a 2-3 day rotation. Even with heavy activity, I’ll usually do 2 days for a wicking base layer top.
